Perihelion - KSP meets a 2AM lofi playlist. A cozy space sim with realistic Kepler orbits. No sign up required, play in browser.

Play it here

I've been working on this side project for a while and have decided to start sharing it. I always wanted a game like star citizen, where you could explore and walk around your own ship, but with realistic space physics like KSP or the expanse (no space dog fighting, travel and combat is a lot of waiting around).

The game is in super early beta right now. You can explore a single system of procedurally generated planets by setting kepler burns and re-orient your ship to look at your surroundings. Some maneuvers take time but your progress is saved, so you can queue up burns, close your tab and come back later (you can sign up with google or email to preserve this across browsers/devices).

What i'm looking for is some direction about what people would like to see next or tweak with whats already there. I've got big ideas for where this would go; combat, resource mining, interstellar travel... and eventually planetary landings, space stations and multiplayer. So i'm interested to know what would make you come back to the game? I guess biggest upvote wins.

There's also a devlog link on the site for anyone interested in the technical side. I'll try and post something once a week.

Hope someone enjoys!

Perihelion - a browser space exploration game where you fly by planning real Kepler orbits on in game terminals (very early, looking for feedback)

As the title says, i'm trying to build a realistic space-sim. No arcade POV flight. You walk around your ship using in game terminals to perform ship actions. Flights are realistic newtonian Physics, not airplanes in space (obviously i've had to shrink the scale quite a bit). I realize thats not for everyone... maybe one for the KSP fans?

Flights are persistent, so if you've got a long transfer between planets you can close the game and come back later. In the future, this is how i envision combat working, not dogfighting but a slow, tactical chess game. Like the expanse series.

Its in a very rough status at the moment but i've got a lot of ideas for the future. ai enemies, asteroid mining, boardable stations and explorable planets. Eventually interstellar travel and multiplayer.

For now i'm just trying to work out what features to add next and what current features need refining and clearing up so i'd be very grateful for any feedback from people who find this sort of game appealing.

Theres also a dev-log embedded in the landing page if you want to follow along with the technical side of things

(apologies for the obviously ai generated social card in the link. Art is not my strong point and it never will be )
