Sick animal - please be vigilant and cautious!

Hi all. Please be vigilant and proceed with caution if you live in the subdivisions a bit down from Walmart, on Newnan Crossing Blvd E. There is a coyote wandering that looks like it has mange and is very clearly unwell.

We pulled over to call the police department, to which they transferred us to animal control, which went to voicemail. Another individual was pulled over and let us know that she called as well, but the police department and animal control said there was “nothing they could do because it’s a wild animal.” They stated that a ton of people had already called… This animal is clearly suffering AND a threat to public safety, but alrighty.

So, if you walk the Linc trail or live in this area, please be cautious. Keep animals and children inside, and DO NOT APPROACH. Along with this, if there is any indication that your loved one or a pet has come into contact with this animal, please consult a medical professional. It’s very possible that this animal was suffering from rabies. Rabies is 100% fatal without early intervention and post-exposure vaccination. It is always better to be safe in these situations! Stay safe!

Trauma + Oura Ring

Hi friends!

I am a new Oura Ring user who purchased a 5 on release day. I have worn my ring VERY consistently since purchasing it— until this past week. I am SO curious to hear everyone’s experiences, thoughts and insights on this. I do data work for a living and I just find the insights this thing produces so fascinating!

On Wednesday morning, my sweet kitty had a medical emergency. I rushed him to the vet, and although he is now trending positively, we are cautiously optimistic. I wore my ring all day Wed, but removed it Thurs morning. Those two days were chaotic (emergency vet visit, lots of tears, etc.) and I was just so flustered that I just never put it back on. Finally, yesterday morning I put my ring on and wore it as usual. This morning I woke up to this— my first signs of minor strain. I have admittedly— no pun intended— been worried sick about him and monitoring him constantly since he came home.

Some added background that may be relevant— I am medicated for anxiety and it is very well controlled, but I have absolutely been feeling it for obvious reasons. I also have MCAS, but again, it is fairly well controlled.

I think what I find most interesting is the fact that it didn’t have two days of data to trend which would have CLEARLY shown stress. I’m sure some of you can relate when I say this— the only thing I can think is how the heck does this thing know?! 😂 I am officially spooked. LOL.

So, for those who have worn their Oura ring during a period of trauma or significant emotional strain, how did your Oura ring react?

p.s. - swipe for cat tax, of course. Appreciate any and all good vibes sent our way. ☺️❤️
