Recruiters/Job Contacts

There are multiple positions being advertised in my area of interest however, they are being advertised as full-time when at the moment I can only commit to 0.6FTE.

While I feel that my experience, tertiary qualification and skill set would be a good fit for the role, I do not want to waste anyone's time by applying, hopefully making it to interview stage then disclosing that I cannot work full-time hours.

Is there an appropriate time to disclose this? Put it on my cover letter, call the job contact or just not apply at all?

What has your experience been?

The toasting of Roman

Here's our rescue cat Roman, who has just turned 3. We've had joy in watching his coat change/toast over the years.

The toasting of Roman

Here's a few pics of our rescue cat Roman. Amazing to watch his coat change over the years. He has just turned 3 and is the weirdest most handsome cat I've ever owned! He only likes affection when he initiates it, which isn't often. However, will meow incessantly if he can hear you but cannot see you. Not because he likes you but because you probably haven't given him any food yet. He is oh so gentle and would never scratch or bite. My other DSH tabby male on the other hand is overly affectionate but also can be prone to very aggressive outbursts where he will literally be out for blood. Hahaha pick your battles I guess! Love seeing everyone's lynx points!!!

What do we have here?

Sorry, lighting is definitely not the greatest. I always thought I had green eyes but as I am ageing they appear to be changing! They also can appear different when I wear certain colours such as navy or grey. Love this community and looking at others' eyes!

Queensland Corrective Services

Anyone here in professional or admin streams? I've recently applied for a couple of roles after graduating. I'm a mature aged student with previous experience in admin, justice and health sectors and I am currently already a QGov employee. I thought my previous work and life experience as well as my new degree would at least land me an interview however, I haven't heard anything and smartjobs still lists my application as "submitted".

Is there something I can do to boost my chances? I used the cover page to list my skills and qualifications against the job role description. Is there anything else I could be missing?

For those with experience in this department, once I have a foot in the door is it easy to progress? At the moment I'm in a department in a 0.5FTE role but there is no room for progression or to increase hours to a 0.6 or 0.8 as it is shared position, it also isn't making good use of my degree.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading this far.

Hi, probably a super easy question but I haven't had a response from HR yet, so I thought I'd ask here to see people's experiences.

I work for a QLD gov department and have been acting in the same position for just over 12 months. As my position was advertised as temporary, I keep getting my contract extended every 3 months. When i hit 12 months i was expecting an increment increase but that didn't happen and it looks like I've been extended at the .1.Are increment reviews only for permanent staff? My team was uncertain so lodged a query with HR but we are yet to hear back.
