explain "dewy" to me

You see it all over the place, products that will give your dewy or glowy skin. I don't really get it. When I put on sunscreen, my whole face looks shiny, and it's terrible. When I see pictures of "dewey skin" it just looks shiny to me. What am I missing? Or am I just not the target audience for this at my age (52)?

disappearing toners

I am looking for a cf toner.

I used to use Paula’s Choice, but they got bought by Unilever.
Then I switched to e.l.f, but they pulled that idiot move hiring Matt Rife for an advertising gig.
I was using The Ordinary, but they now belong to Estes Lauder.
I recently started using Thayer’s but now they’re owned by L’Oreal.

So, once again looking for a toner that I can find at the drugstore, that won’t cost $4.00/oz. (for comparison, Thayers is $1.29/oz)
