On .223 Wylde

On .223 Wylde

My ar shoots the ammo in the pic really well. 3/4 in groups

But note: some of the ammo is 223, others are 5.56

My question is, if I want to reload for this rifle do I get 223 or 5.56 dies?

Brand recommendations are appreciate, as local stores only seem to carry hornady

New Mars 5 Ultra does nothing with .ctb and .goo files in USB drive

Folks,

I got rid of my Saturn for a Mars 5 Ultra. The larger build area was causing me problems. Of course, with the Mars 5 Ultra I have several problems. Never fails

- Yeah, the build plate needed to be leveled, but after an hour or 2 of Youtube videos, I think I figured that out.

- My current problem is getting the printer to accept files from USB drives. It WILL accept and print the Rook.goo file that came with the printer. It will NOT accept a .goo nor a .ctb file that I placed on that same USB flash drive.

I'm now formatting a new flash drive.

Suspecting that I have a firmware issue, I've downloaded what I believe are the latest firmware files. Of course, the printer won't read them.

Y'all please advise. Birthing pains for Elegoo resin printers have been pretty significant for me.

Oh, I've been resin printing since 2014.

Gordon's Reloading Tool: Am I out of luck?

I postponed downloading it. And now it's no longer available. Or is it?

Anyone have a link? An alternative?

Collecting life insurance when a death certificate is "impossible" to obtain

Folks,

A family friend, who had asked my mother to create a life insurance policy for her, with the policy to be used to defray funeral expenses, has died. My mother passed away many years ago. She changed the beneficiary to me; I've continued making the premium payments.

The family friend was a Mexican citizen, and legally worked in the U.S. for many years. She retired in Mexico, and collected social security thru a U.S. bank and used an ATM card to collect her monies.

She died this past month. Her relatives are of extremely modest means and don't have the resources to obtain a death certificate for me (transportation to government offices, cost to take time off work, etc).

I've asked the insurance company for their process to collect on the policy when obtaining a death certificate is nearly impossible.

Do any of you have advice? I fear the insurance company can use the circumstances to stall, heck, indefinitely

270 Load development for a total noob

Folks,

My first reloads will be for my 270 Winchester. I'm using H4350 and Hornady 130 grain SST bullets

53.5 to 54 grains of H4350 appears to many people to be a sweet spot for 130 grain bullets.

I'm thinking of doing 3 cartridges for 52, 53, 54, and 55 grains. So, a total of 12 cartridges. I'm only trying to get close to optimum, then fine tune from here.

Can y'all advise on this? Am I on the right track?

Thanks

Noob question on commercial ammo

I’ve purchased much of the equipment to start reloading, but I’m not there yet.

my 270 shoots a commercial ammo really well (130 gr Federal blue box). But standard deviation and extreme spreads on velocity seem high to me

Is there a database of load data for commercial ammo? In other words, I’d like to know which projectile and powder they use. I’d like to tighten up the variation

20 inch 6.5 PRC too short?

I'd really like a 22 inch, but there's a good deal on a 20 inch at my local gun store. What do y'all think?

62 grain accuracy in a 1/7 twist 5.56 AR

My PSA AR-15 with 1/7 twist is very accurate with 77 grain match ammo. I haven’t found a poor shooting one yet.

But 62 grain M855 is cheaper.

what’s y’all’s accuracy experience with 62 grain M855?

When I try to open it, Chitubox shuts me down and tries to force me to upgrade to 3.3.

I just want the basic Chitubox.

Is there a solution for me?
