Boat trip/snorkeling from Anse Marcel?

We'll be back in SXM in January, this time staying in Anse Marcel and interested in a half or full day to Tintamarre, Rocher Creole, Pinel, etc to see them and some aquatic life, snorkel etc. Maybe even a separate sunset cruise instead of driving to GC.Just two of us, but we'd be willing to go with a slightly larger group or boat if it were not full of carousing, drinking. Appreciate any recommendation

I've looked at some of the smaller boat tours like https://captainjoboatcharter.com Generally are the prices quoted for small boats like a 27' whaler for the day or half day per person or full cost (excluding extras) for the boat?

So, Am I still "Running"?

I'm M77 (78 in 3 weeks) and still running - or at least what I call running. I know that my feet and arms are still moving up and down the same way that they did when I was 34 and ran a 7:20 pace NY Marathon (3:12). My watch shows my RHR at 49, my VO2 Max 41. My BPM during most of my "runs" is in my Vigorous (117-144) to Peak (145 -) zones, averaging in the 121-128 bpm range.

But these days walkers pass me (heck I can walk faster than I run when I try it) and my watch says I average 16-18 min a mile on my 2-3 day a week 3-5 mile "runs". Years ago, I wouldn't have considered that even a jogging pace. So am I still a runner? Should I be/try to runniing faster? Or should I just give up and join r/Slowjogging?

Should I replace?

I always read about people complaining about how fast Altras wear, but aside from tears in the upper or bottoms separation, I never really am sure how long they expect running shoes to last. I alternate between two pairs of Escalantes, these being the older pair. What do you think are they ready to retire to walking? I've got some lateral heel wear, especially on the left where I've worn thru the rubber outsole and they are also wearing down in the midfoot in my primary strike zones. And do you think it's worth getting the 5s or stick with the 4s which are currently reduced.

LB Schools?

Grew up and went to school here but many years ago (LBHS '65). I've been back for some years but have no idea what the schools are like now and no friends with school age children to ask. But very curious, how do they rate today?

Bike Carrier for Massage Table?

My wife, an LMT, does massage during the summer on a small resort island. Sometimes she has to bring her table up to 2-3 miles to get to clients' homes. I've rigged up a cart behind her bicycle to carry it, but it's kind of flimsy and jury-rigged so I'd like to find a purpose built bike cart or someone who could fashion one. Does anyone here know of such a cart or someone who could create one?

Any Bike Surfboard Cart Makers?

I've seen a lot of clever board attachments for bikes and one or two carts behind a bike. I'm looking for someone who makes these and who might be able to craft a two wheeled bike cart to hold a massage table that fits into a 36"x 32" canvas bag.

Convert this pot to Aged White?

Maybe not an authentic pot, but it has served me well for many years brewing Taiwanese green Oolongs. Over the years it's darkened inside from those teas. Now due to LPR (esophageal reflux) I've had to go to lower acid, lower caffeine shu pu-erh and aged whites and this pot sits on the shelf unused. Has it been infused with green Oolongs enought that it would do a disservice to new tea brews (or the beloved pot) if I were to start brewing aged whites in it?

Dealer won't sell me a warranty if I didn't buy the car from them?

My '24 Limited Crosstrek lease ends in November, I was going to buy it out and give it to my son and buy or lease a Hybrid or EV Subaru to replace it. So I've been looking around to buy the Gold Plus Warranty before the lease ends. Local LI dealer just emailed me saying, "Did you by any chance get your car from us? My Finance Manager informed me that he is not able to sell the warranty if you purchased at another Subaru dealer."

Guess I won't be going to them when it's time to get the new one.

Possible to Cancel Gold Plus Warranty?

The 36 mo lease on my '24 Limited ends in November and I'm not sure whether I want to buy it or lease a new hybrid. If I do keep the '24 I want to get the 10 yr warranty. I plan to extend my lease so that I can try for a good price on a hybrid at the very end of December. If I do lease a hybrid I'll want to cancel the warranty on the '24 when I turn it in. Will I be able to cancel it?

Are Distances Off Lately?

I've been running the same daily training route for years, most of which is on a 2.2 mile boardwalk. Lately it seems as if the same start and stop place or number of blocks are registering as greater distance. Or less blocks as more distance. Has anyone else noticed this or am I hallucinating it? Could anything else affect mileage? My pace cadence, step length? A new tighter band? I thought distance is calculated purely by GPS.

I can believe that I've been draining my curls for years wringing them between messy tearing paper towels. Today it dawned on me that I had these two identical shallow (3"x7.5") plastic strainers. I put one in the sink and dumped the hydrated curls inside then placed the other one on top and squeezed, using my thumbs. The broth ran out on both sides into the sink. No muss, no fuss, and perfectly drained soy curls

Is there a decent way or airline to fly from JFK to Guadeloupe in Jan or Feb? Everything I've been seeing is either nothing or over 16 hours. Fly JFK> Paris and back to PTP with Air France or 9 hr stopovers in Miami that make it an overnight flight with Air Canada.

I’m trying to decide if extending a lease for 6 months will lower the RV enough to make it worthwhile buying it then or if any lower RV will just be a wash with the rental costs. If it matters, the vehicle is a ‘ 24 Crosstrek Limited with $23k RV and will have about 22k miles. I’m paying $305 a month. I'm sure that cost will go up some to cover lease tax payments.

( I’ll also use the extension to see if I can snag a deal on a new lease at the end of the Dec or early ‘27 by turning it in to the dealer and using the low mileage to lower the new lease cost).
