Does anyone in Seattle want to split a 12 lb order with me?

Title. I’m serious. I can’t store 12 lbs of soy curls and I’ve never even tried them but I want to 🥲 would really love if there’s more than one person out there who wants to split so we could do 3 or 4 lbs each. But even if only one, I can handle storing 6 lbs better than 12.

Got my 12lb bag delivered today!

I’ve been contemplating pulling the trigger on this for years and finally did. My wife recently discovered how easy it is to use them so chances are this bag won’t last as long as originally planned. Will be stuffing these in our chest freezer

Oil-Free🌱 Roasted Soy Curls with Middle Eastern Seasonings🌿

The seasoning blend doesn't just add flavor, it creates an amazing texture without needing to use oil. These are great for sandwiches, wraps, in soups, over pasta, almost anything 🙂

The 12 lb. bag of soy curls approximately fits 7.5 one gallon ziploc bags.

Just wanted to help people know how much storage space you will need in your freezer and/or frig if you order the 12 lb. bag.

I just received the 12 lb. bag and divided the soy curls into 7 one gallon ziploc bags with some left over that I put in a one quart ziploc bag and a tiny bit in an empty peanut butter jar. I put around half in my freezer and half in the frig.

It's more than I imagined. It's probably going to last me over a year.

Instant Pot Soy Curl Rice.

Ingredients

  • 8oz bag of Soy Curls
  • 3 Cups of Rice
  • 1-2 cups of vegetables (Peppers and Onions are good choices)
  • Your seasoning of choice (I like a mix of Cayanne, Chili Powder and Cumin). You can also go crazy with something like barbecue sauce.
  • ~6 cups of water / vegetable stock (the amount needed to cover the rice).

Cooking

  • Layer Soy Curls and veg mixture at the bottom of the instant pot.
  • Add seasoning, ensuring that the vegatable / soy curl mixture is coated.
  • Add Rice
  • Add Liquid so that the rice is covered.
  • Cook for 5 minutes with 5 minutes of natural release.

I find this kind of slop massively addicting.

Does my sandwich need more soy curls?

Please be honest with me. Does it need more soy curls? The answer is yes obvi. 🤭

Also, sorry for the blurry pic. It focused on my dog at my feet lol

I want to make my own soy curls.

Has anyone tried to make their own? I'm curious, are they just dehydrated tofu, or something else. I'd like to experiment and wondering if anybody here has tried to replicate them. Thanks!

First bag!

I finally got my first bag. They are amazing! But I was wondering, they are literally the whole soy bean as the only ingredient. No sodium, engineered crap, etc… I know you have to add flavor to them but these seem like the sweet spot for meat like replacement as a healthy alternative to the engineered impossible/beyond products. Especially since you have the control over adding the flavors.

Am I missing something? I try not to eat the engineered fake meats too often but I do like them. Maybe soy curls are better for eating more frequently?

Anyone have a dietician type background and can speak to this? Thx!

Any difference in the amount of crushed curls in 8oz vs bulk bag?

I'm going to order from Butler, and I'm trying to decide if I should buy a box of 8 oz bags or the large bulk bag. Does the bulk bag generate a higher percentage of crushed curls during shipping?

How do you determine the correct amount of dry curls to rehydrate?

I always rehydrate what looks like the right amount and then end up with waaaaay too many, OR I overcorrect and rehydrate too few.

(For what it's worth, even when rehydrate "too many," I somehow end up eating them all anyway, I'm just curious if anyone has a magic ratio that works for their recipes. )

Cajun soy curls and noochy grits

My first time actually cooking with soy curls, though I've eaten them before. Got the 12 pound box and split among some vegan friends.

Soy curls in fridge

I stupidly bought a 12 pound bag of soy curls in December 2024. I have been storing them in my fridge. If they don’t smell are they still okay to eat? Thanks!
