Freezing soycurls/TVP

Hey curlers - I have been craving lazy meals as I have been a bit busy and want to save some time with freezer meals. I am intrigued by freezer meals that can be prepped with sauce and all then dumped in a pan or crockpot so I would be freezing hydrated but uncooked soycurls. Anyone done this before? Maybe with TVP?

On the other side, have you frozen prepared, cooked meals?

Holiday prep

What does your holiday prep look like? When I started 3 years years ago I saw lots of people talk about how 70% of their annual sales came at Christmas and I’d say a lot of mine have as well but every year come November I am realizing I did not prep to make the most.

I have been changing up a lot in my shop in general BUT my holiday prep was going to be adding a gift box add on option and increasing my inventory.

Do people update their tags for gifts?

Newbie in need of help

Hi everyone! I just got my machine last week and I am trying to swap out the labels but cannot figure out the name of the piece I am looking for. When I search label item letters it am just getting the letters obviously - I mostly need the plastic piece OR would love a piece that would go all the way across that I could vinyl on my own stuff. I am thinking plexiglass and cutting but maybe there's an existing product. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Curtain bangs I didn’t ask for

I have long hair with layers, asked for a trim and said I had face framing layers that started at my chin that I wanted to keep. Ended up with curtain bangs. The side I part to looks fine, the other not so much.

How do I get through the grow out phase without hair constantly in my face? I cannot style with a round brush but feels like a requirement for curtain bangs, any advice on styling?

Advise for newbie - Non-food items

Hi all - I am completely new to this and trying to work through hesitations so soliciting advice. I have a side hustle selling earrings for sports fan that does relatively well. My friends own a sports media business & sports bar and want me to sell my earrings via vending machine in the bar. They offered for free but I am going to give them 20% of sales, no rent, etc. Amazing opportunity and something I think I would regret not trying.

I am trying to purchase a machine from someone locally right now and working on setting up a separate LLC from the one I already have for the online sales.

I have really no way to predict what my sales will be and am quickly seeing how the costs could rise by the time I factor in credit card fees and insurance.

I am curious if there are any other non-food vendors with advice, any advice for how to assess what sales you could do, etc. It seems like a really cool opportunity and I am supposed to pull the trigger in the next few days but am getting some last minute jitters.

Additional questions - the seller I am working with says we can just remove the cash component & do just card reader to simplify since my products are $20 - any opinions on this?

Tracking food for 2 people

I have used myfitnesspal in the past for myself and it was okay. I have tried cronometer and thought it had potential but I felt like it was missing a lot of foods and some macros or calories were way off the packaging totals which made me feel less confident in it.

I have been into healthy and fitness most of my life but am looking to do a bit of a body recomp after a few years of health issues that preventing me from exercising. So I am looking to increase my muscles and drop some fat while at the same time my partner found out he is prediabetic.

I was already struggling to figure out how to track my portions out of the meals I make for the 2 of us since his portions should be larger but now it seems we might have a few nutrition changes to make as well.

It seems like I am supposed to load in everything in its raw weight and then get the servings by grams after its cooked? and then you would log 530 grams as 530 servings?

Would appreciate tips for tracking, app recommendations or however you manage.

IUDs

I currently have the copper IUD (about 3 years) and having had heavy periods BEFORE they are now nightmarish and have cause me to have low iron storage levels which is impacting my health. My doctor wants me to switch to a hormonal IUD to reduce my periods but unfortunately, I had a reaction to hormonal birth control as a teenager and am now VERY hesitant about anything with hormones. My doctor said she doesn't think it would happen again but I am still hesitant.

I know some people have benefits from them and since it has been 15 years since I have had hormones, maybe I would have a positive experience but I can't quite get over the potential side effects.

If you have a hormonal IUD, which one and do you have any side effects?

Kikland Toilet Paper

I am sure some people have heard about Kirkland toilet paper causing recurrent UTIs. When I searched it on the group I didn’t see many posts wanted to see if there are other people that have experienced this. I had recurrent UTIs for over two years with a year of that being daily, excruciating pain with lots of negative cultures therefore unexplained UTI symptoms. I saw someone on TikTok mention Kirkland toilet paper and I have not had a single symptom in over 10 months since switching.

I wanted to see if there’s people who have tried switching and if their symptoms have resolved or if people are even aware of this. I have had multiple friends mention talking to a lawyer about it because of the medical bills that were racked up in that time. And I was curious if there’s been any whisperers of a class action lawsuit, I’m not seeing anything other than for the wet wipes and it seems like this could easily be dismissed as an allergy specific to me, but I’ve started to see more and more post on other forums about Kirkland specifically causing long term UTI symptoms in people.

I am really struggling with how to paint our two bathrooms. it’s a rental and not a fan of the stone but obviously stuck with it. the floors are a very brown/almost black color and I’m trying to brighten the space. I was going to go with just white but hoping people more creative than me have some ideas.

separately, that frame is a hidden cabinet and struggling to match to anything and want to swap out the mirror so ideas on that are welcome too!
