Do you know if The Deep will be accessible to the Faelindral / Evershade Weald area?

Or is it going to be more of a Night Harbor thing?

Also, another question, do you guys know if the servers will all share the same physical location during the EA? I'm leaning towards playing on the West Coast server just to avoid the crowds during launch, but I am also curious if this raise my ping significantly (I'm on the East Coast).

Does anyone else think the Racials being copy/pasta from WoW is kind of boring?

This is not an attack on MnM or the Devs. I've been enjoying the game so much that I actually stopped playing WoW.

But one thing that is kind of boring for me is the fact that the racials are essentially just copy/pasted from WoW.

Dwarf Stone Form is identical to WoW Dwarf's Stone Form.

Gnome's Slippery is identical to WoW Gnome's Escape Artist racial.

Human's Tenacity is identical to WoW Human's "Every Man For Himself / Will to Survive."

Ogre Smash is identical to WoW Tauren's War Stomp.

Wood Elf Hide is basically just WoW Night Elf's Shadowmeld.

With all that being said, I don't even think having a racial ability is even important or necessary. I think EQ handled racial differences pretty well. Race restricted items, starting locations, stat and size differences, passives like frontal stun immunity / regen + ac bonuses, night vision faction differences, unique skills like tinkering, slam or forage etc.

And I do realize that for most players the racials are hardly game breaking, but having racial abilities that are essentially copy/pasted directly from WoW feels uninspired IMHO. Especially in a PVE oriented game. (The racials they chose to copy are essentially PvP abilities and have limited functionality in PVE.)

What are y'all thoughts?

What if they opened the beta to everyone?

https://preview.redd.it/zlj5ytgplx9h1.png?width=784&format=png&auto=webp&s=a4c5db1b3a992f5f5241d75e760de32fedf8a1cd

But limited it so that players who do not have a formal invite are limited to only playing the least popular classes? (Inquisitor, Spellblade, Archer, Paladin... and throw in Clerics too because you can never have too many and they are by far the least popular healer).

I am being somewhat facetious of course, but I do think this would be a way of gathering more data on unpopular classes and insuring that lower-level players have a surplus of tanks and clerics.

Is there any plan to have an official forum?

Was curious if the website will ever have an official forum? I don't feel right spamming this subreddit anytime I have a question about a certain class or ability.

I feel like this could also help determine whether or not criticisms are valid or if they are being made by people who don't even play the game.

Is AC really that bad?

I’ve now had not one, but two separate high level players tell me that I need to focus on gear with stats rather than AC.

What is the general consensus on this?

https://preview.redd.it/dyp0zajxsq8h1.jpg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4da858e76304f9a183534d05fd0692f102871fe5

Of these two items, which would you personally wear?

Also do stats really make that big of a difference? I discovered sharpening stones and got Shaman buffs, and expected to backstab harder than before, and yet my damage seemed unchanged. (Maybe I was more consistently hitting for my max - somewhat hard to gauge - but my max damage didn't seem to change.)

I‘m not trying to be inflammatory or make a statement; I’m just interested in trying to learn more about the game.

Edit: Thanks for the responses!

I think some people have played P99 for too long to remember what EQ was actually like.

I personally don't remember raiding being prohibited primarily by other players. From what I remember, it was mostly limited by difficulty.

I have a ton of memories of being scared to swim through Timorous Deep or run across the Dreadlands because Faydedar and Gorenaire were almost always up. I remember people constantly training Venril Sathir to the zone line in Karnor's Castle because no one on my server could kill him. I remember spending hours clearing the Plane of Hate and the Plane of Fear while desperately avoiding the bosses because if we accidentally aggroed one, we would wipe.

I also remember spending entire weekends clearing giants to try to kill Vox and Nagafen, only for our raid to wipe anyway. (I never actually saw either of those dragons die until I played on P99 Green more than 20 years later.)

Back then, it was completely normal to constantly check websites to see whether certain raid bosses had been killed on any server because it was so rare, and everyone wanted to know what kind of loot they dropped.

Honestly, it wasn't just raid content that was incredibly challenging. I never did the Fungi Tunic camp or the Juggernaut camp in Sebilis myself, but I was in plenty of groups that wiped trying to do them (assuming Trakanon wasn't up, which he usually was because, again, no one on my server could kill him).

I also remember camping Efreeti for GEBs in 1999 as part of a small raid. I was shocked when I came to P99 and saw Enchanters regularly soloing him.

It completely caught me off guard when I first started playing on P99 and realized that content which had been untouchable for the vast majority of players back in the day was now trivial, even for relatively casual guilds. I noticed the same trend when Classic WoW launched a few years ago.

With all that being said, I don't know why people seem to assume that the raid encounters in MnM will be trivial and easily conquered by the first group that engages them. That isn't a classic MMO experience. It's almost exclusively a P99 and Classic WoW experience.

And yes, I realize that MnM isn't necessarily going to be a raid-heavy game, but I also think it's silly to assume that any raid mobs the developers implement will be pushovers. Even in a relatively casual game like WoW Retail, less than 2% of the player base participates in Mythic raiding. I imagine that percentage could be even smaller in a more hardcore game like MnM when you consider how much more challenging it is to reach max level in the first place.

Why are there no balance changes to PVP?

This is from the perspective of a Resto Shaman.

From my perspective at least 2 healing specs are head and shoulders above the other ones.

So why haven't adjustments been made? I thought it was insane when there were no balance changes a month ago, but now?

Am I supposed to just wait 2 years and cross my fingers and hope that during the next expansion I'm not expected to play the most boring religious spec or the other lizard spec that doesnt even have transmogs.

Serious question BTW.

Is there one of those metric data things for the least popular classes?

I just realized I got accepted into the beta 3 weeks ago, but had no clue because I'm a boomer who never looks at their email.

I want to play something that is considered bad. During the last play tests I played an archer even though people were saying it was bad, but I really found it therapeutic to be able to take breaks from the grind to go out and mine and lumberjack to fletch arrows and stuff like that. Felt like the game felt way less grindy when you had a valid reason to take a break from grinding.

But apparently now archers are considered good, so maybe I should try something else? I was only level 15 btw.

Could they bring back Rated Battlegrounds?

I know it is unlikely with Blitz, but Rated BGs was some of the most fun I ever had on WoW. It felt like the raid equivalent for PvP. Having a PVP guild felt meaningful because you needed large amounts of players to form groups, and I have fond memories of being on VC with the same core group of guys for years on end.

It felt like everyone had a role they specialized in etc. I was the sap n cap rogue, also ran the flag in many instances (we also used actual real tank specs for this). But even something like target calling was a big deal, and having a good warrior or DK on your team to call targets or swap to tank for flag carrying, having a boomkin or elemental to boop people in EOTS, your core healers etc.

It just felt like a much richer PvP experience than any other form of PvP I've played since then. And yes, I love arenas too, but I feel like Rated BGs had a way of creating a sense of community or actual need for large PvP guilds. Would be nice to have that back for the social aspect IMHO.

Isn't a lack of gear while leveling a classic EQ experience?

Full disclaimer I've never played on Beta and have only played a couple of play tests, but I notice a youtuber talking about how a lack of gear upgrades while leveling is a big problem. (Not saying this complaint isn't valid).

I remember when I was a kid and playing EQ people made a big deal out of Bronze and Blackened Iron armor (magic boots for kicking wisps). I remember seeing someone in full bronze with an executioner axe and thinking they were the best player in the game.

And even when P99 Green launched I remember hitting level 50 on my cleric and having almost no +wis gear. I think I had a savants cap I got from Unrest, and a Runed Mithril Bracer from Kobold Royals in Sol B. I remember thinking a tank was geared if they had full bronze armor and two gnoll hide lariats because most of my tanks had been monks in cloth armor.

Then like 6 months into P99 of course everyone is an ultra twink because gear just floods the market. Like for me I think not having gear was kind of a true classic experience. I'm not arguing that this is a good system or that changing it would be bad, but I think people are misremembering what classic EQ actually felt like for non twinks. Particularly on fresh servers.

So maybe that is the plan for MnM?

Does the PVP TRINKET feel weak to anyone else?

For years I remember having your trinket was a big deal. You knew you were safe from major CC for the time being. I remember even telling people over Discord "don't worry, I have trinket." Now I pop trinket and it feels like it doesn't even matter. I immediately get chain CC'd for 20 seconds anyways. I honestly feel like they should perhaps re-work how it works so it actually does prevent you from being chain CC'd like the trinket wasn't even there.

I feel similarly about Flash in League of Legends. It used to be this really powerful OP ability, but now characters have so much mobility that it sometimes feels lackluster.
