illustrated children’s ghost fact book, 80s/90s

i have searched up and down for this book for years. it was my absolute favourite as a child but my mum got rid of it when i was younger as it had a particular illustration in there that used to frighten me! i felt so betrayed lol. since then i have tried so hard to find it, but with no luck at all.

from what i recall:
\- it was roughly a4 sized
\- lots of illustrations
\- the cover had a white background and made up of series of different illustrations
\- it included a story about a queen/lady/noble who was forced to drink water until she died
\- it had a double page spread about ghosts on mountains/mountain climbers
\- it had stories that took up most the page, but also smaller stories that were told almost like a comic strip, the story told over around 3-4 different images with a small about of text describing the events of the story
\- one of these smaller stories was the one that frightened me! it was of a vengeful ghost who haunted her husband. the images showed her lying dead in bed with the cover over her(?) and another image of her stood in the doorway as a phantom with curly red hair

it was NOT the world of the unknown: ghosts (by christopher maynard) - unless there’s an edition of that book which includes what i’ve written above

i went for a walk alone today

after years of mental illness my brain decided to crap its pants two weeks ago and lumbered me with an all new affliction: agoraphobia.

i’ve been having panic attacks daily, signed off work, and i havent been able to walk any further than 10ft away from my house in any given direction.

well today, with the assistance of sertraline and pure determination, i was able to walk up and down my road multiple times successfully, and even a little further around the block, all without having a panic attack!

i know it doesn’t sound like much. ive been so depressed about losing the ability to just walk places on my own without being consumed with anxiety, but after this walk i really feel as though i’m starting to come out on the other side of this brutal mental shit storm.

so, congrats to me, i guess. good job, girl. you can do it, and you’re going to keep doing it.

Ice Cream in the rain at 10am, anybody?

I’ve absolutely had it with the bellend who drives the ice cream van and terrorises rodbourne with it EVERY DAY at fucking TEN IN THE MORNING with ‘amarillo’ absolutely blaring.

fuck off, fuck off, fuck off.
