Was I wrong for taking this amplification?

I had a kind of weird experience with a new-to-me coach today and I'm wondering if I was in the wrong. Because of the holiday, I'm sure a lot of us had sub coaches at our various studios. I took class from one who doesn't normally teach at my home studio.

Prefacing this to say that I have a healed collarbone injury that my regular coaches know about because I was taking from them when it happened. It is 100% better now, save for minor occasional soreness, but I've found that there are a few amps that actually work better for me these days.

Today's opened class with a grey side plank crunch. Hands on the platform bar and toes is one "amplification" that I've actually found lends itself best to me on this side post-injury, at least for a few reps and then I'll typically drop to knees. As soon as I was there, the coach said something over the mic about "giving our bodies time to warm up" and repeated the options of elbows and toes or elbows and knees multiple times... Until I dropped down to my knees myself.

For me, this is a warm-up as it keeps my chest more open and reduces tension on my right clavicle, where my injury was. As it's not an active injury and I know how to modify, I haven't been saying anything about it to coaches I don't know well, but should I be? I didn't want her to think I was ignoring her instruction but I was doing what felt right for my body today. 🤷 My regular coach always emphasizes that amps are just options and you should "try one on" to see what fits you best, so I was a bit surprised to feel criticized over taking this one.

Poet's Wife

Since you all were so complimentary of my Gertrude Jekyll, I wanted to share Poet's Wife with you as well. I picked her up on a whim about a year from Terrain (great shop/garden center outside of Philly). At that time I had Lady of Shalott in a container (I'll share her when she pops this week!) but she was just not happy, so Poet evicted her and never looked back.

I absolutely love this rose! The synesthesia of her fragrance is incredible (she smells YELLOW!), and she's extremely happy in her container. She's largely been pest- and disease-resistant. The rose aphids do seem to like her more than my others, but they don't cause much damage as long as I'm vigilant about getting them off. I love the way her blooms evolve from a rich, golden yellow to a light butter the way they open. I think it's overall a very underrated rose.

I'm in Manhattan (Zone 7b) and like I mentioned on my other thread, we had a brutally cold winter and I did absolutely nothing special with the roses. I finally defoliated and pruned early March, and did some Rose-Tone about a month ago.

Gertrude Jekyll at Year 2 and Year 3

Here's Gertie, one year apart to the day! The maturity of this year's blooms compared to last is really noticeable. She's about halfway up the wall now.

Does anyone know how to nudge a TLC complaint?

During the giant blizzard, I had a pretty egregious incident with a yellow cab driver while leaving JFK after a flight was cancelled. It was midnight, I was tired and couldn't be bothered to put up a fight in the moment. I filed a complaint via 311 that has yet to be acknowledged. Any number I call just loops me back to 311. We're coming up on three months now so I'd love to get this resolved. Any suggestions?
