Favorite rock albums from other Charli fans?
I love Rock Music and super excited for this album and the new rock-centric direction.
I’m always open to expanding my music listening, and after Charli started mentioning Lou Reed as an influence I really have come to love The Velvet Underground. I especially appreciate a great full album experience.
Since first getting into PC Music when Charli started collaborating with that crew, I've really grown to enjoy the super complex and interesting sound combinations in how they redefined pop as a genre.
I know that same complexity and innovation exists in the rock genre, but very curious to learn more about what's out there from others who have good taste (aka angels).
What are some rock/guitar leaning albums that other Charli fans enjoy?
Here are a few of my own for reference:
The Velvet Underground - White Light/White Heat
This is probably my favorite album of all time, of any genre. It feels like the analog version of what Sophie could create in the electronic world, but in 1968.
The Stone Roses - Self Titled
This whole thing is a britpop vibe and Fools Gold is amazing
The Garden - Kiss My Super Bowl Ring
Modern punk vibes with a pop twist. Dylan Brady's production on Hit Eject is what put me on.
Mk.gee - Two Star and the Dream Police
Blue Oyster Cult if they were one person and born in the 90s.
ETA: I can’t wait to go through these albums! There are enough to last for days 🖤 here’s a couple more rock albums I love that came to mind:
Sneaks - Gymnastics
Something about this just feels like very cool energy. The tone of her voice is very Brat coded.
Kid Cudi - Speedin Bullet to Heaven
This is Cudi’s most diverse album and him channeling Kurt Cobain. I love everything about it except for the beavis and butthead interludes (they’re truly the worst thing ever). But something about having terrible skits in the middle of amazing music is kind of brat I guess.
Super Xclusive CHARLI XCX! THE UNFILTERED MAKING OF HER ROCK MUSIC VIDEO! By Loïc Prigent
youtu.beI hope they catch you today but if they don’t, it’s okay
Rock Music is the best music video of both Charli and Aidan’s respective careers.
Truly the best video ever and it channels the same artistic spark of Charli that we saw during Vroom Vroom’s time.
2026 rock music era is starting to feel like the freshest it’s been since Pop 2 released.
“i keep thinking about you every single day and night” (music video)
“i keep thinking about you every single day and night” the b side to rock music. i went to kyoto for six weeks to shoot a film. while we were there, i made this video with aidan. only available on vinyl & here on b.sides. so rip the audio if you want it xx

“Rock Music” is officially published under Charli XCX, Inc., meaning Charli now owns her master recordings.
Atlantic Records is strictly acting as a licensee for this era and retains exclusive distribution rights.

Hi angels! With a new album cycle starting, this feels like a good time to check in with everyone here as we prepare for Rockli XCX.
What do you want to see more of on the sub going forward (from members and/or mods)?
Anything you’d like to see added or improved as we move into this new era?
Some things to consider:
- types of posts/topics you enjoy (discussions, games, etc.)
- how we handle megathreads
- ideas for recurring threads or weekly/monthly events
- UI ideas or anything that would make the sub feel more fun/interactive
We want to try and continue reflecting what the community actually wants, especially if/when this new album brings us increased traffic.
"Braturday" rule update
With Brat/The Moment now behind us, we’re evolving Braturday posts and the use of the flair.
Going forward, Braturday will be a weekly Saturday thing where you can use the flair for posting content like:
- tier lists
- album/song rankings
- music posts around Charli-adjacent artists and similar content (snark or negativity towards other artists is still not allowed)
You can also still use the flair for Brat-era throwbacks or posts on Saturdays if you’re just feeling nostalgic and want to keep the brat spirit alive.
The intent here is to keep the sub a bit cleaner during the week while still giving those repetitive styles of posting a space. The official sub rules are updated to reflect this already.
Any and all thoughts are welcomed and appreciated to make r/charlixcx a fun and inviting place!
