Quick Salad w/ King Oscar Mackerel w/ jalapeño peppers

My first try of the King Oscar Royal Fillets - Mackerel with Jalepeno Peppers. Never had this brand of Mackerel before, but the other day I bought 1 of each of the flavors that my local grocery store had, and at ~$3/tin, I'm pretty impressed.

I made a batch of bean salad the other day so I just tossed some of that over a bed of baby spinach and put the fish on top - added some jalepeno-dill pickle hot sauce & a shake of some TJ chili onion crunch seasoning I had laying around - was such a good little lunch!

The Mackerel was not too fishy, had a pretty firm texture, & there was lots of fish in the tin. Peppers had just a little bit of kick too. I think I'll be grabbing this one again soon!

Sea-cuterie Girl Dinner

Tried two new tins tonight - Jose Gormet Fried Mussels in Marinade & Mouettes D'Arvor Salmon Rillettes with Lemon & Dill - and had quite a spread to go with them!

The Jose Mussels stole the show, hands down. They were SO good. Great texture, not sandy at all, and the oil/marinade was delicious - we were just dipping bread into that once we finished the mussels. I need to hunt down another tin of these because WOW.

The Salmon Rillettes were pretty decent - texture was good, but the flavor was quite bland. Really didnt get the dill or lemon notes, but we did enjoy this one too. Just not sure I'd get it again.

Fun experience - love a good sea-cuterie dinner with friends that are willing to try new things :)

Sardine Sandwich

I had a tin of the preserved lemon Fishwife sardines that I knew I wanted to incorporate into some kind of recipe and a sardine sandwich seemed like the perfect thing.

I diced up a bunch of castelvetrano olives and some pickled garlic, mixed with a little mayo, salt, pep, & paprika, and then mixed in the tin of sardines with some of the lemony oil. Then I toasted up some crusty "salty" bread, put the sardine-olive mix on one side with some hot sauce, and then layered on a little more mayo, sliced tomatoes, some salt, and greens on the other side... & ended up with an absolutely bangin' sandwich.

I will 1000% be doing this again. The pickled garlic and olive combo was SO GOOD with the deens. Even though they weren't my favorite deens, this was a 10/10.

Went looking for more Jose Gormet Trout and ended up with a little haul... how'd I do?

Excited for some new tins to try. I've been inspired by this sub to try smoked oysters. I'm a big fan of raw & grilled oysters, but have yet try them in tinned form for whatever reason. I love a spicy tin though, so I'm looking forward to the Ekone Habanero Oysters. What are some of your favorite serving suggestions for these if you've had them?

Texture and flavor were amazing. Beautiful tin.

Expensive at $17, but worth the splurge for sure. Wow. Ate half straight out of the tin and then put some on seed crackers with some dill pickle [duck] egg salad I made today for lunch. 10/10 will absolutely grab this tin again at some point when I want something fancy.

I have been loving Fishwife in general, but this tin is my new favorite - Smoke Trout with Red Chimichurri. YUM. Great by itself or I have also been loving putting it over pasta. Any other fishwife fans get to try this one yet? Does anyone know of any other good tins with more of a sauce rather than just oil?
