I have a hard time asking these questions, so I apologize if this comes out incorrectly. I’m in my late 20s and am in a really amazing relationship with someone I want to have a family with someday. However, I have several severe autoimmune conditions that have a genetic component (almost all of the women in my family have this disease to varying degrees of severity). Because of this, I have made the choice not to conceive biologically, and we plan to foster or support kids in our family/community in other ways.
I mean no offense and have zero judgement at all, but if you have decided differently than me after being diagnosed with a severe condition that has a genetic component, why have you chosen to have biological children? If you have decided to not have children, what were your reasons?
I know that many have personal convictions about adopting or fostering, but that debate is not really what I’m asking about here. I’m just curious about other people’s perspectives!
I’m making an exhibit display and don’t have time to have custom risers made. Looking for a simple and affordable way to make a riser that doesn’t look horrible.
Thinking of using some kind of foam/styrofoam that I can cut down to size and covering it in a fabric. The riser needs to be approx. 4 inches tall and 28 inches long, and none of my acrylic risers fit that size.
Does anyone else have any other suggestions?
