Am I a fool for trying to grow his hair out during the summer?

Hi! first time poodle owner! I got Choco last month and I have plans on growing his hair out, but should I be worried that I'm gonna cause him to overheat during our outdoor play times? I know people tend to cut their poodles short during the summer.
For reference I live in South Korea and average temps during our afternoon walks is around 80F with 80% humidity

How do you refer to a dog?

Hello! Im a beginner living in Korea at the moment. When I take my dog to the park he enjoys watching people and people will come up to say hi to him.

A couple once noticed that he watching them play with a ball and they generously gifted it to him.

My question is, how do I explain that he likes to watch? This sounds dumb but how do I refer to my dog instead of a person? Is there even a difference?
Thanks!

Introducing our new poodle to cats is going shockingly well

My husband and I are fostering to adopt a standard poodle and we have two cats.

One cat came from a shelter and is very skittish but very sweet once he's comfortable. Our second cat (the black one) we've had since she was 8 weeks old and she is so sweet and brave.

The shelter warned us that they did not know how Choco would react to cats but we've been floored how well he's been doing.

We brought him home Monday afternoon and it's now Wednesday night here. We had no intention of progressing so quickly but both cat's and the dog have shown nothing but positive behavior. They reacted well to scent exchange, then to hearing each other, then from seeing each other from afar (the video) and just earlier they ate dinner between the baby gate not even a foot from each other.

This is our first poodle and I have never met such an intelligent and gentle dog. He catches on so quickly to rules and commands which im grateful as we're both very amateur trainers. He has taken the cats so well and I'm so grateful cause we're already so in love with him.

Also please ignore his coat, I'm waiting on the shelter to send me his shot records so I can get him to a groomer.
:( He was already matted by the time we brought him home.
