IR facial recognition is faster and more useful on Linux than on Windows
The Flatpak version of Stremio on Linux (KDE 6, Wayland) isn't displaying emojis like country flags. I've granted access to the fonts folder, even copied the font directly into the app's directory and set up a fonts.conf file with the right rules. Running flatpak run --command=fc-cache com.stremio.Stremio -f -v shows that the fonts are being detected, but it doesn't make a difference. I know I could just use the web version and server - which obviously works - but that's beside the point.
It means hours spent in the terminal (for someone not used to it), scouring GitHub for hardware support and compiling things manually. And just when I thought everything was finally working like the fingerprint scanner and the IR face unlock - it turns out the KDE system clock can't even dismiss calendar, there's a memory leak, and the desktop environment partially freezes. That kinda sucks 🤯
