Also happy to have finally replaced the Spahn and Lajoie after trading my previous copies away. I was in shock at how much the Spahn’s prices had shot up recently.
All from the same original collection, I’m now only the third owner of these cards. The colors absolutely pop, so I’m really excited to add these to the collection. These came from the same collection that my Greenberg came from (https://www.reddit.com/r/baseballcards\_vintage/s/elvx9oORI8), so it’s pretty neat seeing all the same markings on these!
Picked this up in a trade yesterday. Gave up my 1939 Play Ball Joe DiMaggio SGC 1 for this and cash. Enjoyed having the Joe, but just didn’t love its lack of color. This is my third 1933 Goudey Foxx I’ve owned, so who knows if it’ll be the last.
PSA was absolutely brutal on this card. After spending 5 minutes looking at the card under intense light and holding it at every possible angle, I finally found an extremely faint crease on the back (which does not break through to the front) and a super thin scratch on the front beneath his name. Apparently PSA thinks this makes the card worthy of a 2, even though it looks twice as nice as the PSA 5 I used to own. Go figure.
First Eddie Collins portrait I’ve owned! Very excited to add this to the collection.
