Current lead time if ordered a Dream Air Slam today and how much better visuals than my Quest 3?
I have a sim racing system with a pretty high end computer setup:
**- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D**
**- RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 64GB (2x32GB) 6000MHz CL30**
**- Motherboard: Gigabyte X870 WIFI & Bluetooth**
**- Graphics Card: GIgabyte Windforce OC RTX 5090 32GB**
I recently tried VR and now really enjoy racing in VR 90% of the time and have only experienced my Meta Quest 3. I have been watching a lot of YouTube reviews and reading lots of posts on here and originally I planned on waiting 6 months before I placed my order, hoping most of the bugs get worked out before I ordered my Dream Air Slam edition. It seems Pimax has possibly stepped up their customer service and it appears there are more people that are extremely happy with their purchase with not as many defective units being shipped and received as of late? Hoping this means Pimax’s quality control has also made the effort to test each unit more thoroughly before they ship them out. I hope the DA also does not have issues after a year or two of use, but I guess time will tell as there is no way to determine this. They do offer a 12 and 24 month warranty, but I feel a 12 month warranty should automatically be included with how expensive this VR headset is.
Hoping for some feedback. Will I be blown away with how much better the Dream Air Slam performs over my current Meta Quest 3 when sim racing with iRacing, AMS2, and ACC EVO? I have really enjoyed AMS2 as my go to VR sim racing game when just practicing tracks and different cars and not racing online as of late. I am hoping the DA slam it is night and day difference over my current Quest 3, since my 5090 system should have no problem running it smoothly.
My Pimax shopping cart with 24 months warranty and discount code I found that provided me $46 discount is showing $2,658.92 with tax and shipping to CA, USA 🇺🇸. It’s a lot of money, but hope if I do place the order, I don’t have to wait a long time and receive a working unit and do not have to deal with hours of trouble shooting with Pimax, if I end up being one of the unlucky people that receives a defective unit.
Does anyone know the current lead time to receive a Dream Air Slam if an order is placed today? Also, any feedback on how much better the graphics are compared to the Quest 3 would be greatly appreciated.
