Dark Mechanicum vs Solar Auxilia

The Solar Auxilia claimed victory over the Dark Mechanicum in a three-player battle fought around a defended wall. Their Shadowsword tanks proved decisive, destroying several defending Knights and earning valuable bonus victory points.

Mission and scoring

The battlefield featured three objectives along the wall:

Central gate	6 VP at the end of each turn
First breach in the wall	4 VP at the end of each turn
Second breach in the wall	4 VP at the end of each turn

A secondary objective rewarded the two competing players for destroying Titans and Knights belonging to the defending NPC force. Each destroyed model awarded VP equal to its points cost divided by 100, rounded up. For example, destroying a Knight worth 180 points awarded 2 VP.

Forces and deployment

The Dark Mechanicum and Solar Auxilia were the two competing armies. They deployed in the corners of the battlefield furthest from the wall, with the aim of securing its objectives and earning more victory points than their opponent.

A third player controlled the NPC defenders: a force of Titans and Knights deployed inside the wall. This player was not competing for victory, but instead acted as an independent defender, attempting to hold the wall against both attacking armies.

Battle and outcome

The mission gave both attackers two routes to victory: capture the objectives along the wall, or bring down the powerful defending war engines for additional points. The central gate offered the greatest objective reward, while the two breaches provided alternative positions to contest.

For the Solar Auxilia, destroying the defenders became a decisive source of points. Their Shadowswords successfully brought down several NPC Knights, earning substantial rewards from the secondary objective.

Those Knight kills helped secure victory for the Solar Auxilia over the Dark Mechanicum. In this battle, the defending war engines were not just obstacles to overcome—they were valuable targets, and the Solar Auxilia’s Shadowswords made the most of that opportunity.

The battle opened under the grim directive of Breach the Wall, as the Solar Auxilia prepared to withstand the combined might of the Imperial Fists and Iron Hands.

Turn One

The Solar Auxilia initiated the engagement by opening the gates, sending forward a detachment of Leman Russ tanks in a deliberate sacrifice to stall the advancing enemy. Their engines roared defiantly as they rolled into the killing field.

On the left flank, the Imperial Fists concentrated their assault on the western wall. A Warhound Titan delivered the निर्णng strike, blasting a massive breach through the fortifications. Through the smoke and rubble, a Mastodon surged forward, carrying a deadly payload of Terminators into the heart of the defenses.

Meanwhile, the Iron Hands advanced relentlessly toward the exposed Leman Russ. Exploiting the open gates, they unleashed precise and brutal firepower, destroying a Warhound Titan positioned behind the defensive line.

Turn Two

The left flank proved dangerously under-defended, held only by three Shadowswords. Terminators disembarked from the Mastodon and launched a devastating assault, overwhelming the super-heavy tanks.

At the same time, Imperial Fists aircraft descended from the skies, deploying troops directly onto key objectives. One of the three primary points fell into their hands as they pressed onward to engage the Basilisk batteries.

In the center, sustained artillery fire from a Reaver Titan brought down the main gate. The remaining Leman Russ squadrons fought stubbornly, slowing the enemy’s armored advance but at great cost.

Turn Three – Final Turn

With the gates shattered and the Leman Russ forces destroyed, the Iron Hands pushed into the citadel itself. Fast-moving Scimitar jetbikes swept across the battlefield, securing and consolidating control over the left flank objective.

Result

The battle ended in a deadlock on primary objectives. However, victory was claimed through secondary objectives, as the triumphant force raised their banner amidst the ruins of the breached fortress.

Battle Report — The Siege of Toledo

Theater: Toledo, Neutral Territory

Combatants: Imperial Fists (VII Legion) vs. Traitor Solar Auxilia

Background

The ancient city of Toledo had declared neutrality in the ongoing civil war, yet its strategic value made that position impossible to maintain. Sitting at a critical geographic crossroads and defended by a powerful anti-aircraft network, both factions knew that whoever controlled Toledo controlled the skies. The Imperial Fists moved to deny the city to the Warmaster's forces — while a regiment of turncoat Solar Auxilia advanced to claim it for Horus.

The Battlefield

Toledo's defenders had long anticipated the city becoming a battleground. Its engineers had constructed a formidable perimeter — a thick stone wall reinforced by a man-made canal, designed to channel and break any assault. The central gateway remained open to all arms, but the canal's flanking routes could only be crossed by cavalry, walkers, and light infantry. The Traitor Auxilia's disciplined firing lines made the open ground a killing field.

Two iconic structures dominated the city skyline — the Capitol and the Cathedral — each a prize worth fighting and dying for.

Deployment

Both forces advanced from opposite corners of the map, the gold-clad Astartes pushing hard against the regimented volleys of the turncoat Auxilia.

The Turning Point

The Traitor Solar Auxilia's firepower made a frontal push costly, but the Imperial Fists had not earned their reputation through hesitation. Identifying the Anti-Aircraft Control Node as the strategic lynchpin, a full Scimitar Jetbike squadron was ordered forward into the teeth of the enemy. The Auxilia's las-volleys tore the squadron apart — but not before the node was seized and held. With Toledo's anti-aircraft batteries now under Imperial control, the Traitors were denied their air support and left exposed. The VII Legion pressed the advantage relentlessly.

Result — Imperial Fists Victory

The Traitor Solar Auxilia fought with discipline and courage, but the sacrifice of the Scimitar squadron broke their strategy. Toledo — its walls, its canal, its skies — belonged to the Emperor once more.
