Cute little Halloween project!
Any tips for hand stitching around the edges of the lace? I think what I did will work, but time will tell 🤣

Okay so I have this idea to embroider this photo I took at Muir woods last week. I love that the heart was naturally in the trees! I've never done anything like this and, honestly, in realizing how much I've forgotten from my aty classes back in the day 😅 I need y'all to check my thought process
What order should I fill in the trees? Darkest colors first right? And where on the tree should the darkest colors go? Closest to the trunk where the light doesn't reach as much, right?? What stitch should I use?
Any other tips or resources?
I'm stuck between wanting it to look filled in and lush like the photo, and not overdoing it and losing details.

ETA: someone mentioned possibly watercoloring the sky and now I can't see it any other way! The problem is that I haven't water colored any of my pieces successfully 😅 where do I start? What materials do I use? I would do this before any more stitches, right??
I finished another one that I learned a lot from! I lost a lot of detail when I rinsed off the adhesive pattern... Again.
I'm dying to know, where are we getting our fabric? What types of fabric are we using? I've asked before but I'm still unclear on stabilizers as well. What types and when to use them? What pens work best for tracing patterns?
Okay so... How do we know when to call a project done? I end up adding a stitch here and there, fine tuning this and that until I come out of hyperfocus and step back to look at it and go.... Oh no. I've killed it, it's so overdone.
I posted last week lamenting the fact that I worked so hard of all these fluffy satin stitched flowers that were basically ruined when I rinsed my pattern away. now I am questioning all the greenery because the flowers lost their crisp edges. I’ve re-added borders on a few flowers but now they’re starting to look chunky.
When do I stop?? I feel like if I walk away now it will look unfinished, but I’ve spent so much time on this that I want it to feel done.
The ultimate irony is that last week I posted about this helping with my perfectionism 😅 that too is a work in progress I suppose.
Okay so I'm looking for suggestions once again. I love the progress on this piece but I made a mistake that I want to learn from going forward.
I used a water soluble pattern that I rinsed off after doing everything but the green french knots. I spent SO much time satin stitching the flowers just for them to lose all life when rinsed. What could I have done differently? Are we using heat erase pens to draw petterns?? Help!
Also, I plan to fill in all blank space with greenery, except for the skin of the hands. should I have done the French knots/background first? Should I do something else as the background? Should I outline the petals? I feel like the details of the flowers are getting totally lost with the filler....
How would I embroider the top of this pattern if I want it to look like the opening/lip of the glass is opaque enough for the purple of the crystal to show through?
I feel like the center sun stitches got to thick/bulky and takes away from the mountains. Any suggestions? Also, what should I do with the clouds, fill them in? Leave them? It's feeling a bit underwhelming.
Sometimes I get to focused on a certain stitch or idea and forget to look at the whole piece until it's too late 😅
