I built RepoGuard: scan a GitHub repo before giving it to Claude Code/Codex
AI coding agents can read your repo, follow docs, run scripts, install packages, and touch local files. That makes random GitHub repos riskier than they look.
So I built "RepoGuard" : a free to use CLI that scans repos before you hand them to Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, etc.
It checks for:
- prompt injection aimed at agents
- curl | bash
- malicious install scripts
- credential exfiltration patterns
- risky GitHub Actions
- obfuscated JS
- miner indicators
- Docker socket/privileged container risks
