Are S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 missions designed for a pistol start?

I’ve noticed that many S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 missions, especially labs and underground sections, seem like they might be designed to be playable from scratch with just a pistol.

There is often some basic gear, ammo, or a weapon near the start, which reminds me of the classic Doom “pistol start” design.

Has GSC ever confirmed this as an intentional design choice? And has anyone tried completing missions this way, using only what you find inside?

Leather desk mat started bubbling after a month. How to prevent this?

I got a leather desk mat as a birthday gift and started using it about a month ago.

Now it’s starting to bubble in the area where my wrist rests while using the mouse. I’m guessing it’s caused by friction, sweat, or both.

Is there anything you normally do to prevent this? I’m worried the bubbling will only get worse over time.

My brother kept my mandarin tree alive after I emigrated

I grew this mandarin plant from a seed from a fruit I bought at a local store around 2020.

I left Russia in 2022 and now live in Portugal. All this time, my brother has been taking care of the plant back home. As far as I know, he only watered it, no special care.

For those who emigrated and left houseplants behind: what happened to your plants? Did someone keep them alive, did they become wild monsters, or did they slowly disappear?

I’ve been watching playthroughs of Fallout 2, and pretty often the run turns into using some “smart” trick that just makes the game too easy. I want to do a run without that. Just play it “intended way” and enjoy natural progression.

Here’s what I’m planning to avoid so far:

- Gifted trait

- Minmaxing SPECIAL characteristics

- Early Navarro / Power Armor rush

- Early Toxic Caves rush via New Reno

- Save scumming

- Infinite money (barter/gambling abuse)

- Any trader exploits

- Carry weight exploits

- Number keys abuse

- Combat mode toggle exploit

- Traveling to locations my character doesn’t know about

- “Rest until healed” mechanic

What would you add to this list?
