Indigo Bunting Death Stare

Indigo Bunting Death Stare

Went looking for a Lazuli Bunting that was in my area (it is a rarity). Never found it, but I did at least get this angry Indigo Bunting as a consolation prize.

Saw this black-crowned night heron with some sort of catfish in its mouth. This is in Dallas, TX, and to my knowledge the only catfish here are blues and channels, but I don't know my fish well enough to tell the difference. It was far away so sorry for the poor quality.

I was so excited to get this one. In my opinion it’s the prettiest warbler other than the Blackburnian.

I applied for fall 2026 admission to UW's Mechanical Engineering PhD program. The department website says that decisions should be released prior to March 15th, and if a decision is not released, the application "may be in an on-hold status waiting for further evaluation." (https://www.me.washington.edu/future-students/grad/application/procedure).

It's currently March 14th and I still have not heard a peep from the university. Does this mean that my application could be on hold for some reason? If so, what would the reason for it being on hold be, and what would the next steps be?
