Any LBWT finding time for horses?

Junior in biglaw now and I wish that I could get back into horseback riding so much. I rode almost every day growing up and had my own horse. Unfortunately, living and working in a city now means it's 1hr+ drive each way to any barn. Even an hour lesson is a 4 hour commitment from leaving my house to getting back. And as you can imagine, I don't exactly have a ton of free time...

Has anyone in this group found a way to ride regularly, even once a week? My dream would be to lease or even own a horse again, but with how much full board and training costs I don't even think it would be worth it given the demands of my job. Any equestrian LBWT have ways they've fit horses into their lives?

Why on earth does my firm make me use a laptop that costs $1300 new

Genuinely have almost missed filing deadlines because my computer can't process having 2 Word documents open at the same time.

Yes I know it's due to the mandatory firm software and yes I regularly use task manager to clear up CPU space. Anything else I can be doing on this front?

I spent more as a student for the laptop that got me through law school and the bar. Why do I have to use this $1300 piece of junk to do my 250k job. Ugh.

Dior Montaigne - would you wear around a client?

Photo from pinterest but it's this necklace. I love mine but would you wear to a client dinner at an upscale restaurant in NY? With a very conservative black sheath dress and small heels. Not sure if it's classy or too heavily branded/gives "more money than sense".

One year later and I still feel like my teeth move so quickly without the retainer.

Finished invisalign a year ago. Was religious about wearing the trays 24/7 and am still religious about wearing my retainer every single night, and even bring it with me during the day to wear in between meals. I'm super serious about it lol. Even so, if I don't wear it for even one day (12 hours max), it feels tight when I put it back in. It's discouraging because aren't your teeth supposed to solidify a little bit? I know not all the way, but it's depressing to think that even 12 hours without the retainer sets me back...

Talking to recruiters from your work email?

Received a blast email to my work address from a recruiter that actually seems interesting. Would it be weird to not reply from the work account but reach out from my personal email address to inquire more? Or possibly give them a call instead of emailing back? I know firms aren't actively reading associate emails, but still, it'd be better for my peace of mind to not have an explicit paper trail of me looking to leave on firm software lol.

Thinking about taking 2-3 days off this summer to go hiking in Thorsmork and surrounding areas. Probably will not make it much past these areas + Reykjavik of course and *maybe* Snaefellsnes and a few Golden Circle places, but not all. I am so envious of people on here doing 2 week ring road circumnavigations, but due to my job it's really not feasible for me right now. I can barely get a day off to go to the dentist lol. Would you still go if you only had a few days (knowing how expensive Iceland is)? Or would you wait until you can take a full week+ and really dig in? I'm worried I'm going to spend a ton of money and come back feeling like I barely did anything.
