Can you copy paste tackle WR routes for flag?

Or does it the timing feel way different? Just started playing flag with a group of friends and I am just curious if we can use the same concepts as when we played tackle.

Have you guys ever had a strategy that you thought no way this shit works but it did?

How long did it work for? Did it scale?

Starting an independent quant fund

Has anyone had an experience with opening an independent fund and how expensive was it? How much did it cost to build or license data infrastructure? Were there any hidden costs like in legal fees and administrative work? Not planning to open one. Just curious what upfront and operating expenses looks like.

Playing on asphalt

I have been playing 1v1 on the asphalt road with neighbor whenever I can’t go to the gym. We usually play about an hour or so.

Is this not recommended for long term health of the joints? I just noticed that my knees are getting sore. Idk if it is just being 30 though.

Rate question

Is it possible we get a paradoxical reaction to rate cut/hike?

They probably won’t actually move on the rates side and will let long duration assets run off the balance sheet to get other voters to cut but if Warsh actually cuts rates, wouldn’t the long end rise with inflation expectation rising and in return actually increase the cost of capital for most firms financing at 5+ years?
And on the other hand if they hike, the long end falls and makes it actually cheaper to borrow?

If they really move away from ample reserve regime, I feel like long end blowing out is very likely and a rate cut on top of that might actually meaningfully slowdown the economy.

I was thinking if we are expected a cut regardless of inflation reports, we would probably keep rallying into the cut but afterwards it would be like home builder stocks in 2024 where they went up 20+% into September cut before returning to up 10% by the end of the year.
