How did so many got deep shade from this NYX Lip IV stain but crickets for me? Pls take a look at https://www.youtube.com/shorts/x_ltw-ZDX1E and tell me what I did wrong, because I got no color on my lips from the famous Mocha Me Wet 🤔

Help your homie out! Is there a specific way to apply a lip stain on pigmented lips, that I have missed?

P.S.: This one was bought in London. I don't know if it's relevant, unless NYX launched a more pigmented shade for India alone!

When I bought OK Boomer last year (after becoming too impressed with Masaba Masaba series!) I knew nothing about lipsticks and even lesser about skintones/undertones. In many ways, Lovechild is my introduction to the world of lippies, and especially to wearable pink and lilac nudes. This one is also my first liquid lipstick, so color me surprised when I tried other brands' liquid formulas after this and found that they were mostly drying. I tried the best first lol so my standards became forever high.

OB Boomer is now back in stock, after being sold out. The formula is so good, even if the shade is one of the most baffling catfish swatches ever - in what world is this shade a burgundy red! Kay Beauty’s new Cashmere Lip n Cheek Blur is one of the most talked-about lipstick launches right now… but does the shade Rooted actually match the official swatches? Nope, with a capital N. Basically, Rooted is a darkly pigmented dusty rose, NOT the rich brown promised in the official swatch. This is not Color Theory, this is just plain tomfoolery  🫩 I wonder if brands think customers are idiots? Or perhaps the entire design & marketing team need mass eye consultation at the nearest optho clinic, if they approved the official swatches as correct representation 🤡😩

Anyway, the shade itself is lovely - formula is super blurry, super smooth n cloud like on the lips, so that's the plus. There is a big minus too - no lasting power, hardly lasted an hour on me. Another point is, this is a shade that's plenty available in Indian market. I already own half a dozen lipsticks that give me the same dusty brown rose on my skin tone, so for me it's a repeat purchase, tbh a disappointing one as I was expecting a plum brown shade 😔

So do I recommend this range? Well, if you have money to burn, you can buy it for the luxe factor and pretty shade, but do not expect the official swatch shade to appear on your lips. Shades run much lighter than what is promised. Unless you want to use a lip liner, in which case you can somewhat make the shades darker as you wish 🤷‍♀️

Phew, a nude brown that does not turn orange! DARE is a fantastic Neutral-to-warm leaning brown that feels light and airy on the lips, doing justice to its label as a lip whip. I usually don't wear warm leaning shades as they just turn my entire face a bit orange hued, but this one didn't and I love it for that. Check out the view review at

Why do I love this lipstick so much? Because it has made me believe that I too can get the rosy luxe nude lippie effect, even on my pigmented lips 💕

I’m not calling this a dupe for any particular luxe lipstick. I’m talking about the overall experience—the lightweight, luminous, effortless aesthetic that is usually associated with luxury sheer lipstick ranges. Though tbh, London looks quite close to the 4500rs Chanel coco flash range!

Really have to appreciate the fact that Insight a budget brand has given us a paisa vasool product, if you've always wanted this look but the cost stopped you from buying those insanely expensive brands.

Finally, pigmented lips can also have the sheer luxe nude look 🥲

I am so tickled pink (pun intended!). This is the first time I've ever gotten this luxe nude look from a lipstick - usually the expensive sheer lipsticks look like de@th on my pigmented lips - and I'm extra stoked that it is an Indian brand that has managed to make a shade that not only looks great on my skin tone, it also covers the two toned parts of my lips.

Say what you may, budget brands in India are just KILLING it when it comes to shades suitable for pigmented, two toned lips 🫰London looks so much like Chanel's Coco Flash range, I have compared it side by side, see how close they are? I know the shade looks a bit mauvy on my lips, but that's because the lippie joined hands with the natural purple-based pigmentation of my lips... all it takes is a warm pink lip liner to remove that!

Random fact - I did my higher studies in London and visit every year, it's one of my fav cities on earth, so a lipstick named London is extra special for me. No wonder I stocked up, lol.

Answering the important question first - they are not even in the same shade family imo, so there is no comparison!

New WHIRL is brighter, rosier and warmer, with more pink.

Old Whirl is more muted and cool-toned, with more brown.

NOTE: Reddit image processing has gone overboard and is showing these shades as almost similar. They are not! If you want to know the exact difference plus details like undertone and formula, pl check the video swatch 🫶

orgatre is a little known brand i discovered on amazon. i like it, has great pigment, the moussiest soft texture n so far it is the closest to the famed Ct Pillow talk medium shade, at least on my skin tone. considering that OG Pillow talk medium actually washes out indian medium skintone (the irony lol), this tint is more like a wearable, well pigmented version of it. and with a mauve lip liner i feel i can bring it even closer to ptm, but i don't seem to own one! today starts my search for a good mauve liner...

• Mulled Merlot - dusty maroon with mauve-plum undertone, a rare and beautiful combination

• Sangria Splash - bright rose wine shade with raspberry undertone

• Royal Manhattan - a flattering brick red that does not step into the dreaded orange zone. IMO this one is a matte dupe for Revlon's popular Toast of New York.

These non-transfer lipsticks are STUNNING on medium & tan skin and cost less than ₹200 😮😍 From juicy raspberry wines to smoky brick reds, they have some of the best undertones I’ve seen at this price point — especially for Indian skin tones and olive skin. And if you have deeper skintone, these will be great nudes on you.

hi all, i think this buildable bullet lipstick by swiss beauty is v similar to the old nykaa chai vibe. however i never owned the old chai (was too late to the party, nykaa already discontinued it by the time I became obsessed with lipsticks!)... those who have it, pl tell me if these two are similar?

tbh it's not the same formula, the bullet reflects light more while chai is more opaque/matte, am just lookin at a nostalgic alternative lol. do take a look at the video swatch at https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ekbhkM055F4 and share your thoughts, would love to hear them 🫶

p.s. - yeah wbk official pic swatches are unreliable but it's all I had to work with... for some weird reason, it's hard to get a proper swatch of old chai, all my online searches lead to new chai only, like the archival function has failed madly. i find this is true to a lot of discontinued shades, they just never come up on search easily anymore.
