What if she survived?

What if she survived?

Would you rather her survive as a vampire or stay human and never be a part of the sacrifice ritual?

What would you do with her character afterwards?

(btw she's one of the reasons i like s1-2 better than the rest)

Did Enzo have nothing better to do...? 😂

Did he seriously have nothing better to do than to harass Stefan...for no reason? I could never stand him when he's around Stefan. At least Stefan had a personality and a life.

Let me get this off my chest real quick…

The part where Elena kissed Damon in that deathbed was one of the worst TVD moments ever. I was so mad and upset. I hated that scene so much.

She literally cheated on Stefan with Damon in that scene. She never needed to kiss Damon on the lips, especially when she still was in a relationship with Stefan. She could have comforted him in some other way, but kissing him on the lips was not at all an option. 🙅🏻‍♀️

Secondly, I actually feel like Elena wasn't using her brain during that scene; I think it was brainless. She went from being mad at Damon for force-feeding her blood to kissing him on the lips. It goes to show that her character was never consistent, especially when Damon attacked her friends and then killed her brother over her rejection. It's almost like she completely forgot about that. Stefan was going to look for a cure to the wolf bite on Damon's arm, and Elena should know that it increases Damon's chances of survival anyway.

Just because she was 17 years old doesn't mean it was not cheating. Just because it was a "pity kiss" or "goodbye kiss" doesn't mean it wasn't cheating. I understand that she always loved Stefan and cared about him during their relationship, but sadly, that wasn't even the first time she did something weird.

This is why I'm team Singlelena instead of Stelena or Delena (Stelena will forever be in my heart though). I'm not saying this because both brothers are too good for Elena (horrible take btw). I'm saying this because she obviously needs therapy instead, especially when she always puts the Salvatore brothers first.

I posted this because I didn't really go into detail when I was commenting on some other post about it.

I thought about this interesting take on the humanity switch

Someone on this subreddit said that the humanity switch is plot armor to justify the characters’ bad behavior, and I don’t like naming names so I’ll keep it to myself. I thought about this take for some time.

This person is not wrong at all, because my take on the humanity switch is that the characters act like immature idiots without their humanity lol. Some non-humanity arcs are better than others though.

Do you agree or disagree with this take?

How are we feeling about this scene?

This scene was after Damon got Stefan to feed on a random lady on the street; Elena was mad at Damon. I understand that Damon wanted his brother to learn how to resist bloodlust, but the problem is Stefan's guilt, especially in Season 3. So I think Stefan is screwed either way.

Perhaps Elena was concerned about Stefan's well-being, regardless of being human and not understanding vampirism. I almost forgot to mention that Elena said "maybe you're not the right person to be teaching Stefan about self-control."

So what do y'all think about that whole situation?

The writers desperately wanted Delena to make the most sense, but seriously, where is the logic?

When Silas compelled Elena to kill Damon, she was having trouble resisting the compulsion. But when Damon tells her to think about Stefan, she thinks about him and the compulsion goes away. All she had to do was to think about her ex-boyfriend to resist the compulsion from a 2000 year old immortal. Okay, I guess. I find it funny, especially when it’s the same ex-boyfriend who resisted Klaus' compulsion until Klaus compelled him to turn off his humanity.

So basically, Stefan resisting Klaus' compulsion made Stelena even more powerful, while Elena resisting Silas' compulsion did nothing for Delena other than to save Damon’s life.

And let’s not forget the part where Damon couldn't even resist the urge to feed on KathElena after KathElena told him that he can fight it?

This storyline about the cure in Season 4 is quite a joke to me

In the very end of the Season 3 finale, Elena turned into a vampire. During my first watch, I expected her to learn how to embrace the vampirism, even though I knew she would hate it. But instead, the Mystic Falls gang went around looking for the cure so that she could be human again. 🙄

I feel like Season 4 is more about the cure than it is about Elena getting used to be a vampire. If this is incorrect, then why tf did Elena lure Kol into the house so that Jeremy could kill him? She and Jeremy killed him because it was the easiest way for Jeremy to complete the hunter’s mark, which is the map that helps them find the cure.

Even the Mikaelsons seemed to care more about the cure than they cared about their dead brother 😂 they didn’t even avenge his ass, they were all focused on the fucking cure for some reason.

So technically, Elena didn’t want to get used to being a vampire, which is why The Mystic Falls gang tried to get the cure for her while killing Kol in the process. All this happened only for everyone to find out that she didn’t want the cure anymore.

Everyone was so focused on the cure regardless.

Season 4 would have been a great season for me if it focused on Elena being more of a heroine instead of having everyone fawn over her and introducing the cure for vampirism. Every time I rewatch this season, I get annoyed, disappointed, and bored. I personally can't take it.

Do you think the love triangle is that important?

Over the past few weeks, I realized that a lot of people are saying/implying that there wouldn't be a show if the Stefan/Damon/Elena love triangle didn't actually exist. Honestly, I failed to see the importance of the love triangle given that I couldn't even get myself to acknowledge it. As a Delena hater, I kept telling myself that TVD never needed a love triangle between those three characters, but now I'm guessing that my pure hatred is the main reason I’ve been having this mindset lol.

Even now, I still don't really care about love triangles, I care about vampirism and other supernatural powers. I also care about whether or not each character is funny, interesting, or down to earth. This applies to all characters, not just the main characters.

I also don't quite understand how the love triangle is not an insult to Elena's character, unless you're one of those people who treat it with nothing but forgiveness. It's another thing that frustrates me. I thought Elena was supposed to be loyal to everyone that she cares about, that's why it rubs me the wrong way when she becomes part of the love triangle between the brothers after one of them abused her friends and killed her brother. I kept hearing Stefan say that she's not Katherine and that she's the opposite; I even heard Elena say it herself. Now I'm not saying that Elena is like Katherine personality wise, but what she did with Stefan while his memories were gone in S5 tells me that she's more like Katherine regarding the love triangle.

Another thing I never really found interesting is that Elena is the prize and both brothers are fighting over her.

I’m not denying that the show wouldn’t be the same without the love triangle, but honestly it’s nowhere near the best. I don’t think it’s a good thing either. That’s the point I’m trying to make.

Do you like love triangles? Do you like this love triangle in particular? Do you think it's important at all or not?

How I felt about this Stelena scene

Honestly, I find this scene very emotional. I'm positive that Stefan still cared about Elena given that he still said that he loved her before this scene.

Stefan chose not to feel because he was afraid that the guilt would overwhelm him. In fact, he has already experienced guilt and self-hatred before the show even started. I still don't forgive him for his shitty acts though.

Elena not giving up on him is another thing that makes it better. She still had hope for him the whole season.

Sorry I had to delete the initial post, because I wasn't fucking ready. 🙄

I love Katherine, but I can't take it (s2 e6)

I understand that Katherine is a villain and she does anything to get what she wants, but the part where she compelled Jenna to stab herself was so disturbing to me 😭✋🏻 I personally couldn't take it. Poor Jenna.

Katherine was doing it just because she was jealous of Elena/Stelena. She was trying to end their relationship, especially when she was Stefan's ex-girlfriend, so she targeted Elena's aunt. I love both Stefan and Katherine, but NAHHH I think Stefan deserved better. She compelled him, went after his girlfriend's aunt, and fucked with him while she was in Elena's body.

At this point, I'm done with Steferine. I gave them another chance, I tried to like them, but I just can't anymore! I don't dislike them either, but I'm not shipping them at all tbh. 😂

As a Defan hater, I like this scene

This is where Damon and Stefan actually team up and fight Katherine at the masquerade ball, knowing that Katherine has been wreaking havoc.

Besides the plans and the “You won’t kill Katherine because I will”, I like how they tried to take on Katherine. But Katherine had amazing fighting skills, which is what adds flavor to the scene.

So what do you think? Is this one of the best parts about the Defan storyline?

Elena being "the most innocent, compassionate, selfless character" wouldn't work either way imo

I think the writers' first (and biggest) mistake was to depict Elena as the most innocent, compassionate and selfless character. It just seems like a lose-lose situation to me for the following reasons:

  • If Elena was truly the most innocent/compassionate/selfless out of all the characters, her storyline would probably get boring. In fact, I don't think it's easy to depict her as the most innocent or selfless character based on whom she associates with. For me, it feels nearly impossible.
  • As of now, Elena is clearly not as innocent/compassionate/selfless as the writers made her out to be, which makes it hard for the audience to appreciate her. Does it make her insufferable? Sure. But as you can tell, my frustration is mostly directed at the writers.

I loathe the writers for trying to tell us that this is who she is when she was a part of that love triangle with both brothers AND she became a vampire. Like, the writers planned on having her become a vampire for some reason; they even had Elena feed on random humans. Yet they would still pass her off as one of the most innocent characters. It makes 0 sense. Not to mention that she assisted Jeremy in killing thousands of vampires. The TVD writers have to be some of the most incompetent writers in television history.

Elena's character would have been way better if the writers would just let her be a little bit selfish (not too selfish) for 1 or 2 seasons, then she becomes more selfless step-by-step and does a lot to save lives, even if it means killing enemies, instead of just sitting there being all "innocent 🥺"

What do y'all think? Do you think it would be easy to depict Elena as the most innocent, compassionate, selfless character?

I would have rooted for Elena here if she wasn’t interested in Damon

I’m sorry I had to bring this up again. But the point of this post is to analyze the situation instead of making fun of Elena.

I saw another post about this scene and then I saw some people say that Elena had every right to be mad at Stefan for sleeping with her killer (Rebekah). The problem is that it makes her look like a hypocrite given that she slept with Damon, the guy who ruined Stefan’s birthday by killing his friend. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Sure, neither Stefan nor Elena are innocent. The thing is that it all started when Elena slept with Damon. When Stefan found out about it, Elena continued to offend him with the “broken toy” nonsense. And now Elena is the one saying shit about Stefan sleeping with her killer, while Stefan is just pointing out the hypocrisy by saying stuff like “this would have been the second time Damon killed Jeremy, so I guess nobody’s perfect.” That’s why a lot of people have been cheering on Stefan in this scene.

The part where Elena says “Are you punishing me?” is another thing that annoys me, but I don’t feel like going into detail.

So let’s imagine if we were watching a different show where Elena was faithful to Stefan the entire time while not taking any BS from Damon, no matter how hard he tries to force himself onto her. Then the Stelena breakup happened because Elena wanted to focus more on herself and her friendships, then Stefan went on to sleep with Rebekah. I would 100% agree with Elena getting upset with him in this scenario.

In fact, I’m pretty sure none of this would have been a thing if Elena never had feelings for Damon or anything. Not to mention the double standards against Stefan.
