What is with the hate for the Atreus sections?

I am currently playing the game for the first time, though I know the story already.

I finished the Ironwood section yesterday and really loved it. I like Atreus' combat way more than Kratos' and his interactions with Angrboda's paint that explodes feel awesome. I love playing him and his interactions with his companions.

So why is there so much hate for his sections?

Could Jane Prentiss' attack on the archive have worked without the attempted ritual?

In a later episode John theorized that the "door" created by the worms was an attempted ritual, and since single rituals are always doomed to fail, the entire attack was doomed. So could the attack have worked if she hadn't tried to perform a ritual?

I mean the battle where Luke's forces enter CHB. Luke accomplished absolutely nothing, and it will definitely take away from the battle in the fourth season.

In the books that was the first time the war had actual physical influence on the inside of camp. Having a battle in the second season takes away the horror of losing people from camp in battle, because apparently it happened before(if they even lost people. There was no funeral, so the whole scene could have been even more useless).

The only reason I could think of is that the showrunners wanted a big fight to end the season, and because they cut the fight with Polyphemus (for some reason I also don't understand) they had to shoehorn in Luke attacking camp
