Old gift from my dad 🙄

So last Xmas or 2 years ago, my dad got me this nice necklace and a showy feminine gift in front of the entire family. It even had one of those sentimental cards in it with the flashy poetic writing of "i can't promise to be there for the rest of your life, but I'll love you for the rest of mine" with a giant FOR MY DAUGHTER right on top.

Now, im fortunate to come from a middle class family. My dad is an accountant, got a full ride scholarship through college, works his ass off. I'll credit him for that. But hes manipulative in every way possible. He's gotten me jewelry in the past, along with my sister in laws, nieces, cousins, mother, etc. No ever really likes those gifts, but for me having always been a "tomboy" growing up, to just generally masc, to now being out as a man, no matter what excuse I give him I get these girly gifts that I end up throwing away and then he acts surprised I didn't like them.

Now that im out to my whole family, he went out of his way to get this super fancy necklace JUST FOR ME, with the daughter phrasing on it (hes never gotten ones with cards like this before), and pushed to show how much hes willing to spend on me (which hes boasted about my whole life) and got a special "luxury mahogany display box with included light upon opening." Its 18k gold.

I dont know why I kept it, probably something caused by trauma growing up and throwing shit away blah blah blah. Anyway, it just dawned on me I can SELL IT and because he was a jackass and got the super nice box, I could get even more for it!

Does anyone have any sort of advice about how to go about selling jewelry? I wouldn't know if people would try to buy it for less than its worth. Online says some stores sell it for 40, online shops say 55, and other sites/estimates say it can be 60-100 without the nice box being included.

Any thoughts would help. Obviously I got it for free, so any price is good. But I wanna milk it if I can, lol.

Roughly 1 week post op ... drinking

Ok, I got my surgery july 27, today is August 4. So its been 9 days, I just got my drains out yesterday. My surgeon said I healed incredibly well (I tend to heal quickly, so not surprised), almost no swelling, even minimal bruising.

I like to drink casually, the most being that I get a little tipsy. Never to a point where I struggle to walk or im not super aware. I just like to get a little giggly and silly. I don't go crazy or do shots.

Im just curious how much I can technically drink? Im not longer on hard pain meds. Just some Tylenol that I've honestly been forgetting to take bc my pain level is that low (I've seen people on this subreddit say 5 individual stairs was too much for them, but DAY AFTER surgery I was walking around the town I was in and hanging out in public with my partner, for reference). So im not concerned about issues with meds.

I really just wanna have some wine (12%) with dinner and maybe feel a little nice. But everything i see online is the typical ABSOLUTLEY NOT ONE DROP OF ALCOHOL WILL MAKE YOU BLEED TO DEATH stuff.

So can someone give me a straight answer? I assume it'll just be bad for swelling and bruises (which again, I don't have much), or I may bleed a little bit/longer?

Idk, im just autistic and need a blunt answer. Obviously im not stupid and gonna get blacked out.

Questions about Dr Haruka Okada

I am in the process of getting double incision from stratus, and got my consult done on May 31st of this year. I've been waiting to hear back from insurance (Anthem, listed everything in regards to surgery as covered under my plan) for prior authorization and still have not heard anything.

It has been nearly a month now, and I've emailed the office twice. They claim they have not heard any updates from my insurance company, but they'll look into it. After that, I haven't been getting emails back about information. It's frustrating as I have an oddly scheduled job shift, and they only call at times when I cannot reach the phone. So its constant voicemails and not being able to get information unless actively speaking to someone. I've been told they only have 2 people working there, one being okada herself, so it hard to reach them.

With it being so long, I've been researching across reddit and every post (from even 3 months ago) say insurance responded within 2 WEEKS and the office called them back pretty much same day to schedule the procedure.

I'm beginning to panic something has gone wrong or the claim for authorization was somehow never filed. I've always had bad luck with medical needs, in that I have to constantly re-call over and over before things finally get settled or people finally tell me things I should have been told ages ago, but I've never scheduled a surgery on my own before and don't know if this is what to expect?

I also tried logging into my online portal for my insurance and nothing is listed under claims or authorizations. Not sure if things will only be listed here AFTER the authorization was been accepted or denied...?

Is there ANY info or advice people can give me about what i can do? I've just been trying to trust the process of 'sit and wait' but I'm getting sick of waiting and allowing things to be forgotten.

For additional context, Okada assured me that my insurance plan was amazing considering how low my max. Out of pocket was, and that she was IN NETWORK. I had a letter of recommendation from my therapist, who specializes with Trans masc patients.
