Remember when Ulta launched an NFT?

Any one know what happened with this? Oddly enough the links in that email are all a dead end.

Like I doubt it's worth anything but even googling is proving to be a dead end (but perhaps I'm not googling right, I'm dumb when it comes to intangible items LOL)

48 Hours Since SNF discharge

My parent was discharged from a SNF this past weekend into independent senior housing (subsidized to their income). This apartment is a 2nd floor apartment with no elevator and this parent has had a few strokes over the years.

Since discharge they have...

Bought $80 of alcohol "just in case"

Kicked myself and my partner out when we offered to help unpack.

Contacted and connected with their drug dealer.

Yelled at me/hyper focused over miscellaneous missing items

Continues to refuse homemaker services

Continues to refuse physical therapy

Has asked to reschedule speech therapy.

Upset that I said I wouldn't be back until the end of the week (I need my space I keep losing my patience with them)

The previous discharge at the beginning of the year followed a similar pattern and after two or three weeks out was readmitted to the hospital for failure to thrive after an APS wellness check.

Wish me luck over the next few weeks, here's to hoping this goes better than the last time!

Senior Housing

By a stroke of luck, my parent (66) will be moving into senior housing from a SNF in just a few days.

To outline the last almost year.

Stroke Jan 2025

Discharged home Feb

Stroke Nov 2025

Rehab Dec 2025

SNF Jan 2026

AMA discharge mid Jan.

Multiple APS reports, (myself and 1 other), and a wellness check later...

Rehospitalized Feb 2026.

Readmitted to different SNF

At this time their housing pulled the cord and said they couldn't risk having them back and alternate arrangements needed to be made due to the rapidly declining health. This was a room in a friend's house with no lease.

End of Feb they find out about housing and that they're homeless. SNF is willing to keep as "placement pending" until housing is found.

Luckily they've already been on wait-lists for years for senior housing and the living arrangement was temporary until senior housing worked out.

March senior housing calls to screen them.

April, and May pass with no updates.

June senior housing calls to say there is a unit available but it's a 2nd floor is that Ok? My parent insists it's fine. Unit was in rough shape needed a lot of work, may not be able to move in for a month or two.

Things suddenly move extremely quick. Call Monday that it's ready, we go to sign the lease a day later and it's very apparent that the stairs will be an issue. However, the leasing agent still lets them sign the lease and gives us paperwork for how to request a 1st floor. They'll be moving in this weekend.

My parent is insisting that they don't need any services. I have requested that all available services have referrals placed. I've gotten them to agree to speech therapy, I'd like to see physical therapy as well seeing how they did going down the stairs, up seemed fine. They (SNF) has offered homemaker services and my parent has said no. I don't see how they'll do their laundry as it is down a flight of stairs and in a separate building.

I'm already helping more than I ever thought I'd have to. I don't mind helping with paying bills (their money), coordinating care (phone calls), driving to the occasional doctor appointment (palliative care referral was submitted in-between SNF visits), I have offered to take to the grocery store once a week (it's around the corner). I feel that's plenty. I shouldn't have to do their laundry, or any other activities within the house that are minor and able to be outsourced if available to be.

They're doing better than their Jan discharge, but I'm not sure they're doing much better than their Feb 2025 discharge. The annoying voice in my head is telling me this is all going to fall apart and crumble or that they're going to fall down the stairs and kill themselves that way. Or they'll do what they did in Jan and just refuse to answer the door or phone for any services that show up and then when APS finally does a wellness check we'll be back to square 1.

Admittedly this time I don't feel inclined to call APS but they were incredibly helpful and resourceful when they did get involved which from reading this sub sounds like that's not always what happens. I don't particularly want to call APS on them I want them to be successful but I just see so many barriers and failed attempts previously that I don't see this lasting long, and the timing is just awful but I suppose there's never good timing for something like this.

I guess I'd take any advice if anyone has any but this is mostly a rant.
