Frustrating when older bands won't play newer songs

I get that bands need to appeal to casual fans who want the greatest hits, and that these shows don't really serve to sell albums anymore, but I wish there was a better balance.

I'm going to catch Cheap Trick in a couple of weeks, so I was checking out what their set lists have been like lately. They've been on a great run for the last four albums, but they're only playing one song from any of them, and sometimes not even that. The rest of the set is at least 35 years old, and I've seen them play it all a bunch of times.

I have to imagine the audience showing up for acts this far into their careers has to have some interest in recent songs, right?

Trying to troubleshoot issue miking vocals (at home)

EDIT - looks like the interface I had initially ruled out was the smoking gun.

I don't expect anyone to solve this for me, but would appreciate any thoughts.

I'm working in an attic with a fairly high, pitched ceiling - not ideal I realize. I noticed on recent vocal tracks that there is a strange sort of distortion. At first I thought I was overloading my preamp, but I can now rule that out. It's a Scarlett 2i2 4th gen, and I'd be more than happy for an excuse to replace it, but I don't think it'll help this specific issue.

Then I thought I was somehow overloading the mic itself, so I engaged the pad, first at -10, then -30. It seemed to help, but not completely. Weird.

Then I noticed that it seemed to be frequency specific. When I found a note that was held at a certain pitch long enough for me to really listen, it sure sounded like comb filtering.

I'm using a Reflexion Filter, which I know only helps with sound approaching the back of the microphone. I have no expectation that it is helping me with sounds flying around from overhead.

To further complicate things, I am using a Sphere L22, which has front and rear facing diaphragms, which could be a contributing factor.

So, I'm trying to not spend a lot of time barking up the wrong tree. I don't want to start hanging rockwool panels everywhere, only to find out that my mic is the issue. I will try a different one tomorrow, but since this issue is not perfectly recreatable (maybe my head blocks reflections sometimes?) I don't know how easily I can rule anything out.

I mean... it could be me overloading the mic with my dumbass yelling, since the pad seemed to help a little ... but then again it isn't easy to reproduce... but then again...

Any words of wisdom for narrowing down the possibilities is appreciated.

Weird PC issue right now ( a bunch of Chromium Windows popping up)

I'm on Windows, and as of this morning, the game is unplayable. As soon as it launches, browser windows keep popping up. The game loses focus, and the browser windows keep coming every second or two. In my task manager I sees a bunch of Chromium instances under an Arc Overlay process and Arc Window Renderer background processes.

I don't suppose anyone has seen this before?

EDIT - darnit, the update is done and this is still happening.

What's been your best Brother of the Sword time?

I started timing them, and I just wrapped up a 2:59 run, not counting the wait at the beginning. I know there's a little room for improvement since we had to redo one of the rooms. This was just a random group, but we seemed to fall into a repeatable pattern; I babysat the central device, resetting it if necessary, and folks got to the others quickly and didn't bother doing much pew-pew.

What's the state of Hellbore Light?

I know it was released broken and over-powered, and then got fixed. I kinda recall it was underwhelming and might get adjusted again. I lost track after that.

Has it ended up being worthwhile on a BO build for someone who's been playing a while and has a fair number of desirable ship traits already? I have unrestricted T6 coupons and want to add something new to the mix, but if it doesn't even crack the top 7 on a typical* build, I won't bother.

(typical meaning stuff from a few lockbox ships over the years, a couple of promo ships)

Any reason to prepare those defense satellites in the DSE?

It seems like a waste of effort, since you can shred the incoming waves without them. If you're flying something sloooooow it isn't worth the hassle.

Is it the same rewards either way?

I haven't put money into this game in a while, and it bums me out.

I really hope the Kelvin timeline bundle is good. I haven't bought anything since the 15th anniversary bundle. I want to support the game, but I won't spend money to gamble. So I'm stuck waiting.

I don't know what the general consensus is on recent C Store offerings, but I haven't found anything there that changes the way I build my ships the way the broadside stuff on the Kerala did. I don't need things to be "the new meta", but I do want traits and consoles that changes the way I play at least a little. I'm hoping for something that bumps up the proc chances on the various weapon types, so that I could mix things up a bit there and see an actual difference.

What's after the Kelvin bundle?
