LG Washer - worth having a technician take a look?

Our LG top load washer stopped working properly. The drum stops spinning during the cycle and continues to make a humming noise. Per the LG agent I chatted with, it seems like is a motor issue which is covered by the 10 year warranty, but we have to pay for a technician to diagnose the issue so the parts can be ordered.

How much does it cost typically to have a washer looked at for diagnostic purposes? I don’t want to pay someone to look at it and it turn out to be a different issue which will then not be covered by warranty. I would rather put money into a new washer…
