Graphic Era Deemed Fresher Here

I'm joining btech cse at graphic era university (deemed), dehradun this year

I recently found out that the on campus hostels are already full and the university is saying that only off campus non ac hostels are available now. I've also heard from a few people that the hostel food isn't that good so some suggested taking a pg or rented room nearby instead

If any seniors are currently living in a pg or rented room could you please share your experience?

- Which pg/room would you recommend?

- What's the monthly rent and food cost?

- How far is it from the campus?

- Is it safe, especially for girls?

- How is the food, wifi, and overall environment?

- Would you recommend a pg over the university hostel?

Also snce btech classes are starting from 3rd Aug when is the orientation/induction usually held? Is it before classes begin?

What all happens during the orientation? Is attendance compulsory and do parents need to accompany students?

Thanks in advance :)

DIT University vs Graphic Era Deemed for Btech CSE, need honest opinions

I'm really confused between DIT University and Graphic Era Deemed University for Btech CSE and seats are filling up fast so I need to decide soon.

I've visited both campuses and honestly both looked beautiful. I talked to seniors and faculty members at DIT and the interactions were quite positive. One senior I met was already on an internship, and one of my known seniors recently graduated from DIT and got placed in Noida with a good package after doing an internship during college.

However I'm getting a lot of mixed reviews:

Some people say Graphic Era Deemed has better placements and stronger coding culture.

Some say Hill campus has a better crowd and environment.

I've heard Deemed students get slightly more preference during placements since many companies visit there.

And I came to know that DIT's placements haven't been as good in the last couple of years and that many students shifted to Graphic because of that.

At the same time, some DIT students I've spoken to seem genuinely satisfied.

I don't want to take a drop and these are my main options right now.

Can current students or recent graduates from DIT and Graphic Era share their honest experiences regarding:

Placements especially CSE

Coding culture and peer group

Faculty and support

Internship opportunities

Overall college life

Please share both positives and negatives. I just want realistic advice before making a decision.

Is Chitkara cse actually much more expensive than the stated fees? Need honest info from seniors

I’m currently considering Chitkara University for CSE. The official total tuition fees I calculated is coming around 12.7L, which already fits at the upper end of my budget.

But some of my friends are telling me that they know seniors there and there are a lot of hidden charges, because of which the total expense eventually goes up to around 17–18L.

Now I’m really confused and stressed because that’s a huge difference. 😭

Can any current student or someone who genuinely knows about the fee structure tell me:

Are there actually hidden charges?

What extra costs should I realistically expect?

Does the total really reach 17–18L?

I'm asking just for tuition fees
