Friday friend dinner

Where should I go to dinner with three other people Friday night?

I’m from Dallas originally and when I come into town I rarely have the chance to try new (to me) places and always end up going to my same favorites.

Meeting a few friends from Atlanta Friday night and we are all food people and love a fun place with great food. Price doesn’t matter that much, just nothing stuffy or super fancy. We’re leaving town early Saturday so nothing too far from Park Cities area where we are staying.

Any upscale Mexican recommendations? Fun steak house? Something else?

I looked at D Magazine’s 50 best restaurants that is updated every six months and made a reservation at Nuri but I’m seeing mixed reviews.

Help me find my next favorite

LAFCO Feu de Bois has been my favorite candle for years and years. Something about it lately has seemed almost too sweet, especially as it burns longer. Maybe my nose is changing in my old age.

I love Le Labo Santal 33 (the perfume, I’ve never had the candle). I liked the Maison St. Marie Bois de Balincourt but if I remember the candle didn’t have much of a throw.

There was a little boutique near me that sold a candle called Big Sur and it came in a black ceramic vessel. It was AMAZING. But they stopped carrying it and I never knew the maker. It was not super expensive, maybe $60? If anyone knows what I’m talking about I will owe you forever!

EDIT: I found it - must not have looked that hard in the past: https://nordengoods.com/products/norden-bigsur-12oz-candle?utm\_source=chatgpt.com anyone know anything about this brand?

We have a hyper 1.5-year-old yellow lab and while she knows sit, stay and recall from our large yard, she has ZERO chill.

She is constantly jumping up on people, when she sees us coming in from the driveway she absolutely loses it and is literally bouncing off the door. We live in a rural area so there is lots of off-leash action so we definitely didn’t practice enough with a leash so she pulls like crazy. She barrels towards other dogs and people on off-leash trails.

Are there different tactics for training slightly older dogs? Our senior dog was so easy to train and we kind of thought she would calm down and learn from him so haven’t worked as hard on these skills, which is our fault.

The biggest issue is running at people, jumping up on people and the next is pulling.

Been job searching off and on for a year or so. Ready to leave my job because of turmoil and no major promotion possibilities. I live in a very remote area so most well-paying jobs are remote, so very competitive.

There is an open role at a prestigious institution two hours away from me that would be hybrid, so four hours round trip, twice per week.

Currently making $82K in a mostly remote role (office is 40 min away once per week). Open position is $96K-$120K

I’m a woman close to 40 and we have a 5-year-old — not sure if this would be too tough to manage with not that huge of a leap.

Has anyone tried ElleVet CBD + CBDA oil for joint issues? A vet tech at our vet’s office recommended this for our 11-year-old dog’s slower walking and new anxiety.

It was a tiny bottle for about $140 and I didn’t see a difference so not sure if I should try again and repurchase if others have had good results! Pictured an after rolling around in some nice gravel dust.
