Does anyone here use Parachute Backup and can answer a question?

I am using Parachute Backup app to backup my icloud photos for the first time, and I don't understand if it's working correctly or not, and hoping someone here is a user and can offer their take

I am backing up to new Samsung T9 2TB external SSD.  My Photo Library (optimized) is about 40GB. Once the backup started, I couldn't believe how fast it was running the job.  It got to around 20% done in about 10 minutes. I went to take a logn shower, and came back expecting it to be done. But I saw it was only at about 64% and slowed to a crawl, doing a photo/video about every 5-10 seconds. A half hour later it's at 67%. Now it says it will take anohter 7.5 hours.

Can any other Parachute user explain why it is doing this and if it's normal?

BUG: Cursor goes missing and then cannot Copy text

In the last few days I noticed that after using DIA for a while (since the last quit and reopen), I lose my cursor. I can still click into fields, but I don't see the cursor. Then, after a bit more time, Copy no longer works. I asked the Dia AI what the fix is and it says I need to Force Quit and reopen. That does work. But again, only for a while. It also says it has to be a bug in Dia.

It's been happening more quickly today, coincidentally after updating to the most recent version.

Wife's NZeTA Approved in Minutes, mine is hanging at pending...

I submitted the NZeTA requests and payment in one batch and one payment for both of us at the same time. Almost immediately, my wife's was issued. But hours later mine is still pending. I did these on the app, with it scanning the passports so all info was pulled in by that, not my fingers. I took all the defaults for the few questions just like her.

I see in the app that my passport number is correct, nationality is correct. I have a perfectly clean record in all respects and had previously been issued one in the past.

Makes me nervous since we are flying in 5 days. Why would hers be be issued right away and mine pending? Do they just get routed randomly and maybe got split up? Random manual checks? My photo I took for the app looks a bit different than the one on my passport?

EDIT TO ADD: I am flying Air NZ.

Will Apple's coming AI allow querying the Apple Notes database?

When Apple's AI is finally a reality, will I be able to query Apple Notes? Many of Notes' competitors have this ability and I have been faithfully waiting for Apple to add this. It best be coming or I'll be going.

I don't mean simple AI abilities within a note, I mean treating the entire Notes database as a knowledgebase that I can run prompts against.

Low Power Mode Drain for 2 1/2 weeks in LT Parking?

I have a 2026 Model Y Juniper and will be parking at LAX for about 2 1/2 weeks. I see there is a Low Power function in Controls I can set on while there. I will try to park there with as much of a charge as I can, of course, but what would be a good minimum charge to park with just in case for some reason I am unable to charge close to the airport parking?

Grok in my Tesla told me that even with Low Power it can use 1-3% a day, but I don't believe that. I've read it is considerably better than that, with some saying 1% a day and some saying 1% a week.

I did buy Economy EV Parking (same price as Economy Parking, and in same building), but if I don't like the available EV spots (or there are non left), I'd rather just park in a spot I like regardless of EV or not. Plus, I've never used a non-Tesla charge.

I suppose Low Power will turn off Sentry Mode, but I guess that is a trade-off I have to make.

"New Chat" is unusably SLOW

Wow, I switched on "New Chat" in Settings today to see what it does. I thought from the wording that it meant use the following connections on new chats. But no, I later learned "new chat" means "enhanced chat." They should change the wording.

But what I found after switching New Chat to on is that my sidebar chat became virtually unusable. I use Chat all the time to summarize articles in web pages I am viewing. First problem I was as there were no skills, like Summarize and Recap. So I keyed in Summarize myself. And then I waited....

...and waited. What used to be nearly instantaneous now too perhaps 20-30 seconds. At least. This negated the entire use case of using the sidebar Chat to save time reading articles.

WHY?

I switched New Chat back to off and things are good again. But now I am worried that Dia will eventually make New Chat the only chat for Dia and I'll have dump it at that time. Is this the eventual roadmap?
