I usually like really modern audio gear with dsp and all that, but I putting together a living room system where I want the vibe to be more simple and in the moment.

What are some good sleeper receivers/integrated amps that might fly under the radar? I don’t need too many features, just a few inputs and a nice-sounding amp.

I want this system to look good so the 70s silver face with walnut sides vibe is heavily preferred.

I am very experienced restoring electronics. My plan is to buy something cheap and do a full recap/restoration

I'm a frequent can iron user but want to add a cs pan to my kitchen.

What model pan should I be on the lookout for?

I'm planning on buying a rusted up pan for cheap and restoring it. I am really good about maintaining my cast iron and enjoy the process. I'm not a great chef but I want something that'll last for life.

What pans should I keep an eye out for? De buyer seems to be the standard but they have models at all different price points so I'm having a hard time narrowing it down

I have an analog discovery ad2 from my time in college. It’s a great little device but I end up not using it much because it’s kinda just kinda annoying to setup.

I’m looking for a scope, power supply, and signal generator that I can just have on my bench ready to go at all times.

What are some mid tier brands and products lines I should keep an eye for? I mostly work on audio equipment so raw performance and specs aren’t super critical for me. I’m more concerned with usability and convenience.

I listen to a lot of music with acoustic guitars, mandolin, and upright bass.

With my edition xs, there’s a certain snap that happens with the pick attack of these instrumentals. The transient of each note jumps out and smacks like a kick drum. It’s not really a natural sound but it’s a sound I find fun and engaging.

My sennheiser headphones in comparison sound more natural without the exaggerated transients.

Is this snappy sound a general characteristic of planar drivers vs dynamics? If I move towards higher end hifimans like Arya organic or he1000s can I expect them to have this same snap, or will they move towards a more natural dynamic presentation?

Are there any headphones that are particularly known for exaggerated, punchy transients?

I’d like to get a steel sometime within the next year. I have a budget of about $1500 and want something that I won’t have to upgrade from in a years time.

I’m not in a rush but want to know what to keep a lookout for in case a good deal comes along. I know my budget is on the lean side for a nice instrument, but I’m hoping with some patience it’ll work out.

Looking to get a chorus for my fretless. I'm shooting for that 80s Pino Pallidino type of tone.

I want to get more into the world of rum. I've enjoyed every rum I've had and I find them much more interesting than whiskey.

If you were to pick out 10 bottles to start, what bottles would you pick to show off what rum has to offer?

I'm mostly looking for mid tier bottles, that are fairly easy to find, that are good examples of the different types of rum.

I have fairly limited experience. Appleton Estate and OFTD have been my go tos. My favorite rum I've had was a unaged pot still rum from a local distillery that is unfortunately out of businesses now.
