Following a referral by my GP to a general surgeon doctor I have been placed on a waiting list for a Gallstones removal operation.

What I obviously need to know is would the waiting time have started following my referral, or would it have started after seeing the general surgeon Dr?

The waiting list has the date my GP referred me and not the date of my appointment with the general surgery Dr implying that the waiting time started upon my GP referring me, could someone please clarify

I’d value another option on managing severe cholestatic pruritus (jaundiced itching) when a patient cannot or will not take oral systemic therapies.

During a recent hospital stay for liver jaundice, my itching was so severe that I was at high risk of skin tearing and infection from scratching.

I refused oral drugs because of the well known side effects the gastroenterology team felt a dermatology consult wasn't clinically indicated.

My oral cholestyramine trial post-discharge only resulted in vomiting.

My questions are:

Topical Alternatives: Is a compounded topical formulation of Cholestyramine a viable, off-label option in dermatology practice to bypass systemic side effects?

Consult Threshold: In cases of severe systemic pruritus where oral drugs are refused or failed, do you agree that a dermatology review is warranted purely to protect skin barrier integrity with advanced topical regimens?

Barrier Care: What advanced localized or topical therapies might a dermatologist suggest in this scenario that a standard gastroenterology team might overlook?"

I have seen a Dermatologist in England who gave me a mild steroid cream and as show in the afterwords photograph the topical treatment prescribed by the Dermatologist has cleared it up.

The NHS Dermatologist was not sure what tej cause/name of the condition is and I wondered if someone on here could advise me?
