Omi BYOK for chat: where is the setting? Free plan says “bring your own API keys

Hi everyone,

I’m using the Omi app on Android and I reached the Free plan chat limit. The app showed this message:

>

The problem is: I can’t find where to add my own API key for the chat/AI model.

I found the Transcription settings, where Omi lets me configure a custom STT provider with a WebSocket endpoint. But that seems to be only for speech-to-text, not for the actual chat/LLM answers.

What I’m looking for is something like:

  • AI Provider
  • LLM Provider
  • Chat Model
  • API Keys
  • OpenAI-compatible provider
  • Custom base URL
  • Model name

For example, I’d like to use a free/high-limit provider such as Groq or Cerebras with an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, instead of paying for Omi’s chat plan.

Does anyone know:

  1. Is BYOK for chat/LLM currently available on Android?
  2. Is it only available on desktop, beta, or a specific build?
  3. Where exactly is the setting located?
  4. Does Omi support custom OpenAI-compatible providers like Groq/OpenRouter/Cerebras?
  5. If yes, what fields are required? API key, base URL, model name, etc.?

The wording in the app suggests BYOK is possible, but I can only find the custom STT/transcription section. Any clarification from users or the Omi team would be very helpful.

Thanks!

Dark Accademy Music Study

Ho fatto una sessione di studio di 30 minuti su Dark Academia - mi piacerebbe avere il tuo feedback

Ciao a tutti,

Looking for feedback: 30‑minute instrumental Dark Academia track for studying

I’ve been experimenting with a dark academia inspired study session and just released this piece on YouTube.

It’s mostly piano and ambient textures aimed at late-night focused work.

Any feedback on the atmosphere / mix is really appreciated.

I made a 30‑minute Dark Academia study session – would love your feedback

Hi everyone,

I’ve been obsessed with Dark Academia for years (late‑night libraries, rain on the windows, candlelit desks), so I finally decided to build a small music project around it: Midnight Study Library.

This is my first 30‑minute study session: instrumental only (no vocals), piano and strings with quiet library ambience, meant for reading, writing and deep focus at night.

I’m not trying to spam, I genuinely want to know from people who love this aesthetic:
– does it feel like the right mood?
– is the mix too loud/too soft for studying?
– what would you change for the next sessions?

If this kind of thing bothers the mods, I’m happy to delete the post – just thought this community might appreciate the vibe.
