Has anybody else noticed the decrease in quality of the Staples copy paper?

Recently, the printers in my office have been constantly getting jammed. Upon further inspection, it seems as though the paper is the problem.

The reams from 2024 are Made in Canada, but the most recent ones are Made in the United Arab Emirates.

The new paper is thinner (hence the jams) and is a different shade of white than before.

The packaging has also changed from being paper-only to being plastic-lined.

This is extremely disappointing coming from a company that prides itself on its Canadian brand identity.

I suspect that the previous Copy paper is now the mid-tier (Multi-Use) paper. Can anybody confirm this?

More of a conceptual writing kind of book — Heti typed up 10 years worth of her diaries into an Excel spreadsheet, sorted the sentences alphabetically, then cut cut cut until the book emerged, with each chapter dedicated to a different letter.

I like the concept; I think it pairs well with some of the recurring themes that shine through (e.g. her need for order / inclinations towards neuroticism). It was a bit of a drag sometimes, though. What did you all think?

i have resolved to have a chill, non-academic/career focused summer. i just wanna hang out with my friends and drink beers in the park and make enough money at my receptionist job to pay my rent and be able to go out and have fun.

that being said, i don't want to do nothing all summer, and there are some hobbies i want to develop and get into now that i'll have the time for them:

  • teaching myself blackletter calligraphy
  • getting into graffiti
  • bookbinding
  • cyanotype printing
  • making a beaded curtain for my bedroom
  • start going to beginner ballet classes

what are your summer projects? is there anything you finally want to tackle after putting it off for a while? ❀ ♡
