Renovation cost breakdown of a big project

I am currently doing a big renovation that includes, kitchen (moving plumbing, electrical), breakdown down a wall, adding a powder room in a main floor, changing flooring, painting and building a closet in a primary bedroom.

I've gotten some quotes and have selected a contractor. However during the process of getting quotes I've noticed that they don't breakdown the cost of each sub project.

When I selected my contractor, in the final plan they also don't have a breakdown of each sub project. They will provide it if you ask but it seems very hard.

Wondering if that's been the experience for a big project. Is it because it's hard to price out how much a powder room cost when we are adding plumbing and electrical? I don't think my contractor is being shady in any way but I also don't truly know the person.

Not sure how to ask for that breakdown as we've already started the project and don't want them to spend time on a spreadsheet vs actually working.

Day 2 post op - groin

I'm day 2 post op. I know it's a bit early but is it normal that my pubic bone area, only the right side is feeling like a tug or like as if a marble is in there?

Not sure if it's because I'm icing too much or if it's because I have my job strap on all day. I just feel like my balls never hang anymore so everything is pushed up if it makes sense.

Any tips will help. Thanks.

Tynelol use post OP

Does it make sense to use Tynelol post op vs Advil? Only asking because Tynelol doesn't have any antiinflammatory properties.

Do you keep using Tynelol only if there is pain?

Paper between subfloor and hardwood

House is built in 1926, toronto, Canada.

What is this black and beige paper between the hardwood and subfloor? The paper is not glued down, it's free flowing.

Is it weird to tell your boss?

Is it weird to share with a male manager that you're having it snipped so that you can work remote from home longer? A week vs. only a few days?

Getting kind of worried before OPs

Im not as worried about the procedure but more worried about the potential chronic pain that comes with it.

I will be doing a no scalpel.procedure.

It never occurred to me until I've been researching about vasectomies on this sub and so many people seem to have chronic pain that comes with it.

The way the doctors describe this procedure is 2 days of discomfort and no heavy lifting for 7 days and you should be good but so many guys in this forum seem to have a pretty bad recovery.

Need some positivity here.

Driving after procedure

My clinic advised that I should have someone pick me up, but it's just not possible since my wife has to pick up the kids at the time. Since no one can pick me up they advised me to stay for 30mins for monitoring, in case I faint.

My question is did any of you drive home right after? Was it hard to step on the gas and break?

No scalpel vs scalpel

Most of us probably only experienced 1 method, but wondering from experience and hearing experiences.frommyour friends.

Is the recovery rate for no scalpel generally better than scalpel? You hear a lot of terrible stories on here not sure how much of that is a scalpel procedure

Pre surgery jitters

I have mine scheduled for June 30th, it's going to be a no scalpel but I'm getting jitters. Going to a urologist, that does vasectomy, Circumcision and other urinary systems, he's highly rated here in Toronto, Canada

I'm not nervous about the procedure or the pain, I'm more worried about the recovery process. Reading this group and others on Reddit seems like there are a few people who get infections or nasty chronic pain that doesn't go away - not sure why or how that happens.

I have 2 kids, 5 year old and 2 year old so staying relaxed and doing nothing is almost impossible. I am also unfortunately staying with family right now vs. in my own house so that adds to the complications.

Just feeling a lot. Happy to hear your stories here
