I've been going to Peter's on Eglinton for years, but they only serve Pork Souvlaki.
Any hidden gems you know of ?
Hi! Does anyone know of any yarn/knitting supply stores in Mississauga?
There used to be one in Streestville, but they closed years ago. I know of the stores in Toronto, Etobicoke, Cambridge, Hamilton and Oakville, but I don't know about any in Mississauga.
I'm leery of mail ordering yarn after a previous bad experience, and Michaels doesn't carry more unique yarns like Malabrigo and Cascade.
Thanks!
Hello!
I have a friend visiting from “down south”, and we are looking for a restaurant that serves shredded hash browns that isn’t Denny’s or iHop.
I didn’t realize how rare it is until using google and seeing all the photos of home fries.
Anyone here know of a restaurant for breakfast that serves shredded hash browns?
TIA!
I keep hearing about Ridgeway Plaza on social media, on the news, and the likes. I've never been myself, so I'm wondering, what's the deal?
Is Ridgeway Plaza actually a fun and happening spot to visit? Would it be reasonable to take someone visiting the GTA here on a late night food outing? Over, say, King West in Toronto, or a more commercial type place in Vaughan?
Is it actually an "organic" kind of spot, where young people hang out, and mill about? Or is it really just a big "meme" that is going over my head, as I'm not a local Mississaugan.
I would love to hear some comments and get a bit of enlightenment on this magical, or perhaps, surreal, location!
Unfortunately, I have to rehome my cat and I need some advice and / or recs. She’s a sweet tuxedo cat that we adopted back in November 2025 when she was 8 weeks old. My kids named her Oreo bc she’s black and white (obviously ). She’s about 8 months now and spayed. She’s very quiet, well-behaved, litter box trained and friendly. She’s an indoor cat and does not like loud noises. So, with little kids in my house, she’s more often than not finding quiet places to hang out :) . She did teach my kids to be patient and calm. It’s the only way she’ll cuddle with them. And cuddle she does!! She loves being pet, her purrs are like a jet engine’s and she’s so freaking affectionate.
Unfortunately, my daughter has an allergy that did not manifest till about 4 months in. Along with her asthma, it’s now become a danger to her health. If I had any other option I would’ve never thought of rehoming Oreo, which makes this really hard. Do you know of any other org like Home to Home Pet Adoption with the city of Mississauga? I’m very hesitant to put her in a shelter. Any advice will be much appreciated. Attached a picture of the sweetest cat you’ll ever meet.
Why not my home? No space and no money for an electric piano
In our condo building apparently something happened to the water heater and we haven't had hot water for about 3 days now, so we only get FREEZING cold water, this is obviously unacceptable, there's an entire building worth of condo fees that hundreds of people pay, this should have been fixed within a day not taken close to half a week, who can I contact or report this to? there has to be some way to put pressure on the buildings management.
It's impossible to take a shower in ice cold water (I'm not a cold plunge fan and don't think I will ever be so that's off the table), I shouldn't have to go to my gym to take a warm shower, also even just washing your hands with blistering cold water is unpleasant.
I know I probably can't call the police since they probably have more urgent matters to attend to, I have no idea how this stuff works, never been in this situation before.
But yeah any resources would be great, please and thank you!
Saw this airplane circling around mississauga area, any idea what it is doing
In this photo, we have a Canadian mink (Neogale vison) giving us its best "on the catwalk" impression, or more accurately, the "on the jagged-rocks-walk".
Shall we name it Mink Jagger? 😆🤙
Hi everyone! I never been before to carassauga festival and planning on checking it out this Sunday. I understand there is multiple locations where pavillions are located. For those who has been before; Is there any pavilions that you loved visiting? And any advice for a first time goer? Im planning on driving there and buying tickets the day of. Planning on parking either in Paramount or mississauga valley community center.
I’d like to warn every one of a group called “Lifesavers” or “Lifesavers Bible Talk”.
They gather every Thursday at 7:30pm at Whole Foods Square One by the seating area. They do Bible Talks and pester people into reading the Bible with them. They also try to recruit in the mall as well.
Do not be fooled, this is actually a high-control religious group called the “Restored Church Toronto”.
Members often approach people at the Whole Foods asking if they’d like to “ztudy the Bible” or attend a small group discussion. Once they get your contact information, this typically turns into repeated one-on-one Bible studies.
If you already identify as Christian (Protestant, Orthodox, Catholic, etc.), they may cherry-pick Scripture to argue that you are not a “real” Christian and that your baptism was invalid. When questioned, verses are often stretched to fit their doctrine, relying heavily on sola scriptura while dismissing historical and theological context. There is very little openness to outside interpretation.
They tend to focus heavily on people who are emotionally vulnerable or going through mental health struggles, as people in these situations are easier to influence. At the beginning, they will “love-bomb” you with consistent attention—checking in constantly, offering support, making you feel deeply seen. For many, it feels comforting at first. Over time, however, this often shifts into pressure and guilt if you don’t attend multiple weekly church events. You may hear “do not forsake the assembly,” even though their expectations are unrealistic for people balancing school, work, family, and life.
There is also strong pressure to give money regularly, regardless of personal financial hardship. Missing a donation may lead to confrontation.
Students are often discouraged from prioritizing family gatherings, friendships, or social plans outside the group. Instead, you’re expected to commit first and foremost to church activities and only associate closely with your “brothers and sisters.” If you don’t, your loyalty and faith may be questioned. Dating is restricted to the church, if you have a significant other outside the church, you are told to break up with them.
After weeks of ztudies, individuals are often pushed to publicly repent and be baptized by full submersion, becoming “born again”. Catholics are called pagans, and their infant baptisms are labeled as invalid. From there, you are expected to recruit others and make disciples using the same methods.
To anyone currently involved or being contacted: please move with caution Leaving high-control groups is extremely difficult because of the emotional bonds, constant communication, and gradual reshaping of your worldview. Over time, it becomes harder to recognize manipulation from inside the system.
This group identifies as the “Restored Church Toronto” led by Evan Bartholomew and is affiliated with the known cult, the International Churches of Christ. The founder of the affiliated movement, Kip McKean, has long been associated with serious public controversies, including allegations of abuse cover-ups and financial exploitation. I strongly encourage everyone to research independently and verify information through multiple credible sources.
We deserve community, faith, and support— not control, fear, or coercion. We should not be allowing a high-control organization to recruit people at this store and Square One.
Sincerely,
- Concerned Citizen
Looking for some options for dine in sushi of high quality in the Mississauga area. What are your favourite picks?
I was just trying to walk my dog around Port Credit this morning and this guy got up in my face all aggressive multiple times. First, simply because I own a dog.
Then about 15 mins later he comes at me again and this time it was because I have a beard.
Then, about 20 mins later he has somehow met up with us again and is mad that maybe I am touching people?
Yea, no clue what just happened. I'm just trying to walk my dog in peace. Yes, she is on a leash and yes I pick up all her dog poop. No idea what this guy's problem was.
Just figured I would send out a warning to fellow dog walkers in the Port Credit area.
Hope everyone has a good day. Mods, remove if you want but I think people should feel safe
Any leads of affordable beard and hair trims in Mississauga with the pricing?

I was sitting in my car outside of my Walmart listening to Bruno Mars before heading home but I saw a grandma loading a ton of groceries and other stuff into her car. I immediately thought to go and help her, so I got out and asked if she wanted some help.
The second I started helping her, she looked completely shocked, like no one has ever done anything nice to her before lol. She kept saying things like “Oh God bless your soul” and “Thank you so very much,” over and over again. I honestly didn’t think it was a huge deal, but to her it clearly meant a lot. when i finished loading everything in, she was tearing up a little and even gave me a hug before leaving.
This whole interaction lasted maybe 5 minutes, but it genuinely made my entire day. I drove home smiling like an idiot. It really made me come to realize how something so small to you can mean absolutely everything to someone else. Spread Love not hate!
