Value village Erinmills

The value village at Erinmills has HANDS DOWN the most OUTRAGEOUS pricing of any thrift store I have ever been to. I am consistently appalled by their pricing. I have been back 4 separate times just to see if anything has changed but no, they price like new. So weird. Never had this issue with any other VV.

Cat adoption- Pet Valu

Hello. I happened to stop by at the Pet Value store at 440 Burnhamthorpe Rd West to buy some supplies for my pet. The store owner mentioned that they have two kittens for adoption. Thought I’d post it here so they can find their forever home. You can visit the kittens at their store.

Random affordable grocery find in Mississauga

My buddy works on wharton way and had mentioned about Sacks Food before, but I decided to visit today. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, but some of the prices were kind of ridiculous compared to regular grocery stores. I ended up grabbing a random mix of stuff for the freezer. They had boxes of chicken nuggets, popcorn chicken for around $4. It’s mostly frozen food and the packaging is sometimes random brands or characters, but for the price I really don’t care lol.
The place itself is pretty basic, definitely more of a factory outlet than a normal grocery store. Worth checking out if you’re already around Wharton Way

Pedestrian Safety in Mississauga in Municipal Election

I am a resident of Mississauga’s Ward 7. I live in a one bedroom condo and am not overly concerned with tax rates. I understand that municipal elections are often, if not always centred on property tax rates.

The issue I think should be centred in municipal elections quality of life. I live on Webb Drive and have noticed a marked increase in people walking in recent years as the population of this area grows. However, walking in this area is very unpleasant and dangerous. Burnhamthorpe Road is like a highway running right through a high density part of the city where walkability should be the priority.

I know that Mississauga was farmland with a few villages that were amalgamated into a city which then allowed the space between those villages to be filled in with mostly single family home developments. Mississauga and the cities around it have grown over the decades leading to a car dependent set of suburbs around some high density nodes. This has led to congestion, noise, pollution, and the biggest and busiest highway in North America (401).

I often cross the street at Central Parkway and Confederation Parkway, and it is dangerous. We have leading pedestrian signals but drivers do not stop on red lights when making right turns putting the driver’s two ton car in conflict with a person walking. There is a church and a high school on that corner. This says everything about how much Mississauga cares about safety. Easy solution would be no right turn on red lights. You will immediately find that drivers will hate this because saving a minute whilst diving is much more important than saving lives.

For candidates: Are you aware of Vision Zero? Is it part of your campaign? I suggest it should be the cornerstone of your campaign as more people walk, are maimed, and die. The time will come, soon, when the residents of this area will demand greater safety for themselves and their children.

Parking ticket near squareone

Few months back, I parked the car and paid money in the machine and the machine was out of paper to print the ticket.

I was ticketed and I raised the dispute.

Dispute say I need to pay money.

Its not that I cant pay 50$, but im upset even after paying money, the parking machine was not able to print the ticket and the dispute say im at fault.

Does it make sense to go to court and fight out or you guys say, just pay and forget about it?

Check your kids

On two separate occasions travelling north bound across the queensway around cliff road, There was a young boy crossing at an intersection against the light. First last Friday around 6pm then again today around 8pm. Im pretty sure it was the same kid, maybe not. This time on a bike with a smaller kid on a non-motorized scooter and before with a scooter by themselves.

One shouldn’t have to explain that the queensway in the area is a 6 lane road with speeds upwards of 60kh. No one should be jaywalking, let alone kids unsupervised. If you have kids in this area and let them scoot around by themselves it’s time to have a chat. There are more than enough fatalities on our roads, we don’t need any more

Where to go if your internet doesn’t work and you need to work on your work laptop?

I can’t go to the office because I don’t have anyone to go with (they have a rule that you can’t be there by yourself and basically no one comes in Fridays and everyone I have asked said they aren’t coming) so I need to figure something out since my provider can’t get a tech to come out until 5

A list of conditional/yellow passes issued by Peel Public Health- Today's Naughty List features Critical Risk level infractions, "food handlers not using proper hygiene while handling food", plus yellow pass results being hidden from the public by... who?

As mentioned in another post with receipts, someone with access to the Peel website database has manipulated yellow pass data, but only for select establishments. One example is QJD Peking Duck, which had their January 2026 yellow pass inspection result changed to green in their history.

This type of data manipulation is dangerous to public health; I want to know if the place I'm eating at is actually clean, or has simply had their health history altered to say it is! That's why, in addition to this week's Naughty List, there will be a TWIST at the bottom.

The Naughty List

Bite and Diet (Kennedy Brampton) CRITICAL RISK hazardous food temperature danger zone, food contact surfaces not maintained both corrected during inspection July 21 yellow/conditional pass

REPEAT OFFENDERS Suyacity (Fieldgate Mississauga) CRITICAL RISK pests, SIGNIFICANT RISK food premises not operated in a sanitary manner, handwashing, food contact surfaces, bad housekeeping practices July 22, 2026 yellow/conditional pass

REPEAT OFFENDERS New India Curry Mahal (Pertosa Brampton) SIGNIFICANT RISK hazardous food temperature danger zone, potable water, pests, eight violations in total July 20, 2026 yellow/conditional pass

REPEAT OFFENDERS Robin 3 for 1 Pizza & Wings (Credit Woodlands Mississauga) SIGNIFICANT RISK pests, food contact surfaces July 20, 2026 yellow/conditional pass

Kandahar Kabab (Dixie Mississauga) SIGNIFICANT RISK pests, handwashing, seven violations total July 20 yellow/conditional pass

REPEAT OFFENDERS Indian Sweet Master (Ray Lawson Brampton) SIGNFICANT RISK pests, SIGNIFICANT RISK hazardous food temperature danger zone, food handler did not follow proper hygiene practices while working with food, bad housekeeping practices, dishwasher not up to code. Inspected FIVE TIMES already this year, with lots of follow ups on the history, but no other yellow passes showing. Follow up inspection July 21, 2026 issued a green pass with SIGNIFICANT RISK hazardous food temperature danger zone

And now for the TWIST... The following were selected in order from the list of most recently inspected establishments (at the time of writing this) that were issued a green pass, despite having... issues. Remember, every one of these places has been issued a green pass!

The Twist:

Urumchi Uyghur (Burnhamthorpe Mississauga) handwashing, handler did not follow proper hygiene practices while handling food, operator did not maintain premises free from LIVE BIRDS OR ANIMALS July 22, 2026

California Sandwiches (Latimer Mississauga) food contact surfaces (corrected during inspection) July 22, 2026

Lena's Roti and Doubles (Winston Churchill Mississauga) complaint inspection with no issues July 22, June 16 2026 inspection has handwashing issues

Marble Slab Creamery (Latimer Mississauga) SIGNIFICANT RISK pests, handwashing July 22, 2026, they are repeat offenders for handwashing issues

Subway (Fieldgate, Mississauga) SIGNIFICANT RISK hazardous food temperature danger zone July 22

Karahi Point Express (James Potter Brampton) SIGNIFICANT RISK food contamination, bad housekeeping practices July 8, follow up July 22 bad housekeeping practices

Robins Kitchen (Kennedy Rd S Mississauga) food contact surfaces not properly maintained, handwashing (corrected during inspection)

Brasas (Burnhamthorpe Mississauga) bad housekeeping practices July 22, 2026

Chat Hut (Airport Rd Mississauga) food contact surfaces, pests July 22, 2026

T & T Supermarket - Sushi (Ridgeway Mississauga) SIGNIFICANT RISK hazardous food temperature danger zone, food contact surfaces (corrected during inspection)

Never trust the green pass in the window...

Check before you eat somewhere: Peel Public Health Website It's free and your taxes already pay for it, why not use it? Remember to click or tap the green pass to read what's hiding under it, you never know...

If you've ever wanted to foster or rescue, right now Hamilton Animal Services is in desperate need.

Hi Hamilton! Summer is a really slow month in general for fostering/adoption, and the wildfires up north means rescues sent all hands on deck up to help. As a result, animals are sitting in our municipal shelter for too long because rescues aren't pulling them for foster or adoption opportunities. I picked up my foster dog, Lilah, yesterday to free up a kennel at HAS and to keep her from being at risk of euthanasia.

Municipal shelters cannot turn away stray animals. Other rescues and shelters can pick and choose who they accept, but HAS is required to accept and hold animals for a period of time. If they cannot find a foster, adopter, or another rescue to take the animal, and there's no space, animals are at risk.

I never knew that HAS allows for short-term fostering, and you can agree to as little time as you want. Even just a week can really help some of these animals, and can get them out of the stressful shelter. It is loud and crowded right now, and most of them are incredibly stressed or shut down in that environment. The process was really easy, and they provide all the dog's food, medication, and even gave me a crate for Lilah.

Right now they have a high volume of applications to foster these dogs, but loads more will be coming through. Mostly, they really need forever families for these sweet souls. If you've ever considering rescuing a dog, or have the space in your home to foster this summer, I know that HAS (and the dogs) would really appreciate it.

And if anyone is in the market for a Literal Angel, feel free to ask me questions about sweet Lilah!

EDIT: Providing the link to HAS's page on the process to adopt and/or foster our city's shelter animals.

UPDATE: HAS is absolutely FULL of foster apps right now! Great job, everyone. If you’re still looking to get involved, I have copy/pasted this comment from down below about other rescues and shelters that need support:

GTA Dog Rescues For Fosters (longer-term commitments):
-New Collar Co
-Save Our Scruff
-Bark at the Moon
-Tango’s Lead Rescue
-Canine Haven
-Ladybird Animal Sanctuary
-TysonnFriends
-Matties Place
-Team Dog Rescue

GTA Cat Rescues For Fosters:
-Ladybird Animal Sanctuary
-Salty Animal Rescue

GTA Rabbits / Small Animals:
-Pumpkin Acres Rescue
-Rabbit Rescue Inc
-Ladybird Animal Sanctuary

…. Or check if your closest shelter has a foster program. Ie Toronto Animal Services, Mississauga Animal Services, Etobicoke Humane, Guelph Humane, SPCAs, Hamilton Animal Services, HSG Niagara etc. These are better for shorter term foster situations (1-4 weeks).

Anyone know what’s under construction at Erindale Park?

A large section of the field at Erindale park is fenced off and there seems to be some trail paving and what looks like pipe being laid out on the ground. I couldn’t find a sign or any info online about it. Anyone know what’s going on?
