Is Nilah Mid any good?

I'm a Vladimir OTP and am looking for a secondary champ to practice and play when Vlad is banned, has a bad matchup, or the team needs AD. I found Nilah and absolutely love everything about her, both thematically and gameplay wise. Nilah seems kind of similar to Vlad in a sense where W gives her invulnerability/damage reduction, her ult is a teamfight changer, and she has built in sustain into her kit. I also played a couple games of mid with her in Draft Pick and went absolutely crazy, but then again, it is draft after all.

I was wondering if anyone has some experience with her mid and if she actually works or if shes more of a gimmicky pick. If she is only good into certain matchups or with certain builds, please let me know since it still might be useful info (especially for Vlad counterpicks).

How do I get more consistent with carrying games when teammates (especially multiple) are super behind?

TL;DR - What tips do you have to become most consistent in carrying your games, especially when things like objectives or team fights are not going to be in your favor?

This may be more of a general league question, but I'll ask here just to get more champ specific advice. Here's some back ground info that may help contextualize:

Before my last game, I was on a green-carpet, not having lost any LP for 5 days straight. Every game during this time period was decently manageable, as in if anyone was feeding, it'd only be one lane and the others were breaking even or slightly losing. Today was my first experience in a long time of enemies being actually fed, with Xin Zhao top being something like 7/0 and Olaf jungle being 4/0 by 15 minutes, not to mention my bot lane was losing too, they just didn't really have an effect on my lane.

After the Xin and Olaf started impacting my lane, I lost my advantage very fast. Teamfights would end in a loss even if we had a number advantage, we only had 1 objective secured (dragon) while the enemy got 3 grubs, 3 dragons, and herald. In team fights, I might get one kill and even some heavy burst on the fed enemies, but the rest just would not pan out. Obviously, this is an extreme example and this game likely wasn't winnable to begin with, but it made me want to learn how to deal with similar (albeit more manageable) games.
