Dear everyone,

I'm completly exhausted, literally just took the exam and planning to sleep for the next 2 days because I had to travel at 4am to another city to attend the exam at a center.. so don't mind my mistakes in this post... anyways.

I passed toefl ibt, reading was crazy... it started easy.. then got to some crazy shit. Like some complex vocabulary about history and then aqua life and some shit even native speakers will probably suffer and may not even understand.. I don't know how tf I ended up having that in an exam..

Listening was pretty easy actually

Writing and speaking were as usual.. I don't have high hopes for them anyway as I believe my best chanced for them is getting 4.5 for each

So the score showed after finishing was as following..

Reading : 4.5

Listening: 5

Any chances these scores will actually get any better so the overall score will land somewhere around C1?

Cuz the guy in the center told me these are just temporary scores and they can change or remain the same.. I was hoping for more kn reading.. now I don't even know what to expect anymore..

Any advices or ideas?

Have you managed finding a job in your engineering field after finishing ur PhD? I'm not talking about academia.. I mean an engineering job at a company...

Please share your experiences to people who might consider a PhD but afraid it might not worth it career wise.

I booked TOEFL ibt for this Saturday (after 4 days), I was thinking I can just pass it the same way I was "vibe passing" my shool english exams and just get honors without knowing any single rules.. (using the "this sounds correct / Naaah this doesn't sound good"..

Any survival tips for last minute prep? 🙂

Je suis actuellement en Master au Maroc (Ingénierie des Systèmes Embarqués) et déjà en alternance chez ALTEN. L'année prochaine, une fois diplômé, je vise un M2 en France, idéalement en alternance.

Pour ceux qui ont déjà fait ce parcours depuis l'étranger, j'ai quelques questions :

1. La technique d'approche Candidatures spontanées envoyées un peu partout, ou ciblage des RH et Team Leaders sur LinkedIn ?
2. Le timing Vous cherchez l'entreprise avant ou après l'admission ? Si on attend la réponse de la fac, le temps restant pour trouver une boîte semble très court.
3. La géographie Comment vous gérez le décalage entre vœux d'études et candidatures pro ? Embauché à Lille mais admis à Marseille, ça donne quoi en pratique ?
