I'm not a big modding guy, but I think somethings wrong.

The only computer I own is a Chromebook which is a terrible piece of junk that's a glorified enlraged phone that I exclusively use to watch YouTube. So when "Doom 1+2" released on Playstation with a mod page, i was quite excited. The vast majority work just fine, and I've had fun with the batman and starwars wads. But this Half Life mod just sorta breaks by map 5. The first 4 work just fine, but map 5 and onward just sorta melt into mush.

The mod has 2000 likes, so I'm assuming most people who download it aren't having any issues. Is this mod just incompatible with the ps5 for some reason?

Sekiro has my favorite magic in any Fromsoft soulslike game (Prosthetic tools, Spiritfalls, Ninjutsu)

I have beaten DS1, and gotten to the end stages of both DS2 and Elden ring. In each of these games i have always done a bit of a magic build, or at least magic adjacent, but i always found the magic a bit disappointing, in DS1 i played a sorcerer and 99% of my magic usage was just a blue bolt of damage, and while my cleric builds in DS2 and Elden ring were more fun, it was mostly just healing and buffs. What i want out of magic is versatility and fun abbilites, and Sekiro has that in spades with its magic and i wanna talk about why i think that and why i love the magic so much. To clarify, my definition of "magic" is items/techniques that use spirit emblems, so obviously the prosthetic tools but also the spiritfall items and ninjutsu techniques.

The spiritfalls are items dropped by the headless mini-bosses that act just like sugars but are infinitely reusable and cost emblems to use. They are simple, but its nice to not worry about how many sugars i have or buying new ones. Simple but very useful buffs.

The ninjutsus are much more interesting, though the one i use 99% of the time is the puppet ninjutsu, cause it is so much fun taking over an enemy in the back of a group and watching them jump their friends, or taking over an enemy near a mini-boss and just demolishing them, or my fav of taking over a ranged enemy and getting gun support while i rush a group. Easily the best ninjutsu for me, cause getting just one enemy in a group on your side makes a group fight a breeze, taking over those flame thrower guys during the Ashina invasion is so disgustingly op, cause they just cook every enemy.

The prosthetic arm tools are the real meat of the magic, adding so much to every combat interaction. Using the whistle to attract a single enemy to you one at a time is another great tool for dealing with big groups, the upgraded whistle has two amazing abilities letting you stun ghost type enemies, and drive beast types crazy and attack any nearby enemy. Running into a group of monkeys and blowing the whistle to turn it into a brawl is so much fun.

The flame vent is also great, stunning red eye enemies, and letting you set your sword on fire, cause thats just so cool. Fire sword? who doesnt love a fire sword?

The umbrella and its variants are all great defense tools for any issue, blocking swords, bullets, fire, ghost magic, etc. Super fun to just crawl around like a turtle and tank insane damage.

Dragging enemies closer with the spear, or doing big damage to a bunch of enemies with the fire spear is also great.

The prosthetic tools/ninjutsu is the only reason i even wanna do NG+ using tools in places when i could not before sounds like so much fun. The magic abilities give you a dozen ways to deal with every encounter beyond just pressing L1 and R1 over and over. Without them i probably would have dropped the game. I need to get that lapis to uprgade my tools, then ill move on to ng+

Using puppet ninjustu on a ranged enemy, then rushing a group of enemies with a flame vent into flaming sword while my ranged puppet blasts them from afar will always be fun.

What is your favorite prosthetic tool? I think the fully upgraded whistle is my fav, great for making beast enemies go nuts, great to stun ghost enemies, and great for drawing in enemies. I also love to use it when those ninjas are in Ashina castle, cause the ninjas will leave their hiding place and expose themselves to the Ashina guards.

Maaaaan I would've killed him sooner if I knew I got a sick ninja outfit from it (followup to my previous post on sword saint)

I made a post earlier asking if there was any good rewards for killing Sword saint, and all the top comments were talking about some "satisfaction in victory" nonsense, nobody said I'd get a cool asf ninja outfit from it!! I wish this was the default skin from the start.

God It's honestly so weird playing a game with costumes as rewards for doing something, and not a thing you have to buy in a skin pack or buy from a shop with premium currency. It's been a good year or two since I unlocked a costume in a game by actually playing it.

I'm probably just consuming too much slop games like marvel rivals, but I feel like games just don't have unlockables like this anymore. I understand small game companies selling costumes to help fund the game while giving something in return, but it's always the major game companies with enough money to buyout a small nation doing it as well. Except FromSoftware I suppose, they're like the only AAA game company that cares anymore.

Can yall think of another AAA studio that doesn't do microtransactions or make you pay for costumes? Or try and start a live service game every few years that'll either crash and burn or be the next hot thing nobody shuts up about? And I'm specifically talking about major AAA devs, like Microsoft, Nintendo, Blizzard, big guys like that. Obviously smaller devs make quality no extra pay games all the time.

Man I completely veered away from beating Isshin. Uhhhh cool fight, the Knight guy is still my favorite boss ngl.

Is there any worthwhile reward for beating this guy?

Stuck on this sword saint guy, and I'm rapidly losing motivation. I can get through the first two phases without even taking damage, but then I reach the third and get tossed around. I'd be more willing to learn the new pattern if I didn't have to slog through the first two every single time. I much prefer how God of war did long multi phase bosses with Ares, having a checkpoint between phases, cause even if you get the first phase down perfectly, it becomes extra padding between you and the actual part of the fight you're trying to learn.

Ares kicked my ass, but being able to jump right back to the good part with no cutscenes to skip or phases to redo always made it more manageable.

But back on topic, is there anything after this guy? My favorite part of this game has been exploring the world and fighting regular enemies/mini-bosses. The full on bosses have just been blockades to the parts of the game i was enjoying. Is there any new zone after this guy? Cause if not then I'm done wasting time with him. My favorite part of this game has always been running around Ashina Castle or the Gun Fort and fighting the different cool enemies with all the unique tools and strategies the game gives you.

I know theres like three forms of magic. Miracles, sorcery, and pyromancy. But what makes something a pyromancy spell? like why can pyromancers create poison clouds, or turn themselves into metal, or control zombies? You would think a pyromancy spell would have to be fire based, but it feels like it can be anything.

What makes a spell a pyromancy spell and not just a sorcery spell?

A year ago i quit this game cause I couldn't beat Owl, I decided to re-download the game today and got him in like three tries. I didn't use any prosthetic tools, power up items, special techniques, mortal blade, yada yada, just the block, hit, and heal.

Which is great, the only downside is I kinda forgot the entire plot. Idk why this kid keeps talking about incense or the devine realm or dragon tears. Could uh, could someone give a quick lore synopsis up to this point, cause I'm soooooo lost.

u/mdtpdsparkls — 15 days ago

In an earlier post i made, somebody mentioned getting an item that would let me enter the Kings memory, so when I beat the dragon place and got an item for entering memories, I quickly figured out what to do.

But perhaps I'm stupid (most definitely) but what on earth is this man talking about? What crowns? Are these collectibles i need like the four great souls? Or is this just some old guy rambling?

I have no idea where to go based off this info, and just hoping someone can point me in the right area ^^

When I reached Drangliec castle, I thought that was going to be like the endgame, but the game kept going and I eventually just checked on Google to see how much was left, and apparently I've only experienced 1/3 of the games content.

I've been playing this game for nearly double the time I spent of DS1s main story + side content. This game is sooooooo long. I'm not complaining, just surprised at the length is all.

u/mdtpdsparkls — 18 days ago

Not gonna lie, I was expecting the Castle to be the final area, did not think the shrine or crypt would be next. Also wasn't expecting to find the King just kinda.......wandering. I took the key and decided to leave him alone, then redhead (idk her name) told me to go east using the ring.

Is this uh, not the end? I was fully expecting to fight the King and finish the game within the Castle. Was the Castle like the midpoint??? Cause this is going longer than expected.

u/mdtpdsparkls — 18 days ago

I'm being 100% honest when I say I kinda zoned out from all his flowery language and kinda forgot the question. Something about if I still wanted peace?

What is he asking? Like is he asking if i still want to replace the King of Drangliac (however you spell this kingdoms name) or go down a different route? Or is he asking something completely different?

I don't want to know what the consequences of answering yes or no are, I just want to know what he's even asking me and what my responses are in relation to it. Cause this feels like one of those things I can't ask him to repeat, and I don't wanna say yes or no when I don't even know what the question really is 😭

I know for certain I made my character a woman. I've been wearing a full set of armor for quite awhile, and suddenly when I had to take my armor off to jump into the big hole in Majula, I realized my character was suddenly filled with testosterone and has the worst haircut imaginable.

Genuinely WTF happened?? Did I piss off some god?????

u/mdtpdsparkls — 21 days ago

I'm of course playing the modern version of Dark souls 2 with all the dlc content already installed, but I was wondering if I could get a AS NON SPOILER AS POSSIBLE explanation on how to access it.

I remember in DS1 you had to kill the Hydra in darkroot basin, kill a golden crystal golem to save Dusk, travel to the dukes archives and kill a specific crystal golem and collect the pendant it dropes, then enter a small cave in darkroot basin to reach the dlc areas.

Is DS2s dlc content that convoluted to access, can I access it at any point? Or after beating the game will some npc show up and give me access?

I know basically nothing about them, so I'd like to keep the mystery and not spoil too much by checking Google. But I also wanna make sure beating whatever the final area is won't result in me moving onto NG+ like in DS1 and i miss the dlc content.

To simplify my question, do I have to actively search for the dlc areas, or will I run into them naturally at some point?

This room absolutely destroyed me twice in a row, then I got an idea to use lingering flame before pulling the lever and it worked PERFECTLY. I was thinking of looking up a guide on how to pass this room before thinking of this, and I'm so glad I did this instead. It felt amazing watching my plan work so perfectly.

As the title says i wanna get into DS1 online stuff, but ive never really gotten to into it, ive been invaded once, and summoned other players two times.

If i say wanted to get into invading other players, how would i do it? Do i need to be around the same level as another player? and if so what would be like the level sweet spot where i can invade the most players?

I know some covenants are online focused, but what do each one do? Are there any that are like pvp focused? Or online focused in general?

And whats a good pvp build? I want to be strong but not annoying, if i invade someone id want it to be a fun fight for them as well.

Also whats a gravelord servant sign? bit of a side question but i saw it once while playing and im assuming its some online feature??

I have only beaten this game once (like yesterday) So, sorry if these questions seem dumb ^^

I was looking through my spells and found "Emit force" among them, but I never bought this, the miracle merchant doesn't even sell it. Did I get it for leveling up faith? Do I unlock new miracles at certain faith levels??

I've noticed my hp getting lower whenever I die, but I don't know how to fix it? Is there a way to fix it?

I'm sure this sub is full of posts complaining about Chaos bed, so ima try and be special and stand out. I didn't hate chaos bed, I actually like when a boss breaks the mold, but it definitely did it in the wrong way. I feel like if it was just polished more and this game had a regular jump button that didn't require a sprinting start, it could've been more enjoyable.

I'm like 99% certain this boss is like this cause of budgeting and time constraints, but even with that in mind, I feel like there was still a better way to make a good boss even with those issues. I think a better idea would've been- (warning i am not a game designer, I know not how difficult this would be) a sorta boss rush. Same arena with the Chaos bed inside, but instead of swinging it's arms around like crazy with two big orbs you gotta hit, it could summon previous demon bosses one at a time just with a fire effect, fire resistance, that stuff. The Asylum demon, Tarus Demon, Capra demon, centipede demon. And after killing them one at a time you could rush inside and stab the little bug freak in the center.

Maybe remove the centipede and firesage demon fights from before so it feels more unique.

Sounds budget and time friendly, and while It'd still be lamer then a unique well made boss. I think a boss rush would be much more appealing than a platforming boss to most players.

Maybe this is an awful idea, but I'm just trying to think of something better than chaos bed while still taking into consideration that fromsoft had to rush it with little money.

I played little bit of this game like a year ago, and by a little I mean I only have a few hours in it. So I've basically forgotten everything about it. But I must say this game is so much prettier, it looks and feels a lot nicer. And the UI/Menus feels so much better to sift through.

Wish me luck on my first playthrough! And leave anymore tips that you can think of for a beginner XD

I brought Solaire along cause I was fully expecting Gwyn to toss me around like Manus did, but I guess magic once again beats swords, a tale as old as time itself.

Now that I've beaten DS1 I got DS2 and DS3 next up. I knew a lot about DS1 just from existing online, but I know very little of DS2 and nothing about DS3, so I'll be going into those games basically blind.
