Well I looked up and down for this part and for the life of me can not find it. So I made a 3d model of it. (It is the part that screws to the body and holds the fuel door (1991 Landcruiser fj80)) not sure if it will work or not as I am waiting for it to finish printing. I will update post with what material worked best or send revised model (currently using polycarbonate filament and will try a resin print at some point. Happy to email stl. Or other fusion files to anyone that wants to produce it for free, just dm me your email address, all I ask is that if you have a milling set up or metal cnc and make this out of metal, is that you mail me the part if you make it 🤠

First Landcruiser!

I bought this 1991 FJ80 for super cheap on facebook marketplace. Just has a bad iac valve. I replaced the back sliding window ($30 replacement on ebay/the front half was broken) and added a $79 snorkel. I just bought this shitty amazon bumper that seems to be pretty close to the right dimensions and will try to fabricate mounting brackets and maybe a cross member to Frankenstein it on the FJ80 and mount a winch on it. Will post updates from that dumpster fire 🔥.

Other mods I am considering are lockers, lights on the roof rack, and maybe a not rusted to shit exhaust system that's cheap and easy to bolt on.

Acoustic treatment

I make custom laser and cnc cut wooden acoustic panels, I generally mount them to 12mm PET felt backing and basically got into this so I could treat my studio 😎 let me know what you think!

Well shit...

Pretty bummed out, I got the A70 max because it said it could cut 25-27mm wood in a single pass. I have a sneaky suspicion that this is absolutely bullshit because I am struggling to cut a 12mm peice of wood in a 5 passes at 100% power, lots of notches and finish work. Overall I am terribly let down and about to try and get my money back. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear any input. Wood I am using is birch.

Sign project

So I have been doing light fabrication for a couple of years and had the opportunity to do a custom sign for a client. Essentially it's a powdercoated steel plate with brass letters on it. I am looking for advice on what is going to be the best way to adhere the brass letters to the sign since I can't weld brass to steel. I would prefer to use an adhesive or epoxy of some sort to maintain the clean look, but safety is a huge concern because I can't risk letters falling off and potentially hitting someone walking under the sign; so brass screws or rivets may be my best option. Hopefully someone can steer me in the right direction or give me some feedback. Thanks everyone!
