head ache
pill pain
ran a few red lights
listened to the rain

a silent night in april
no music and no radio
in my rearview — my own angel
with her orange street light halo

people sat behind the screen
of the emergency room reception,
it’s a museum still life scene
of a child at confession

the nurse told me her dad killed himself
a minced hippocratic oath —
for some reason i felt responsible,
so i apologised for us both

this was based my recollection of driving myself to the hospital after an attempted overdose. just wanted to get this out somewhere, pls be honest with your critique!!
