I finally cut ties. I told them about how I cared and how vulnerability made them retreat. I also wrote how difficult is to find someone with so much commonality and shared interests.

They owned up and replied that the vulnerability would engulf them and that they want to remain friends. I think they were just not interested enough to fight for it.

But I’m not ready to be friends and I said so. They accepted.

I feel used, even though they owned up. It’s the worst feeling ever. 😭

But their message was very warm and self-aware. Should I still remain friends?
