Returning Player - Casio PX870 vs Kawai CN 201?
Hi Everyone - I was bribed into piano lessons as a child with ice cream and am just now in my early 30s returning to the craft as a returning beginner. My main goals right now are just to practice with headphones and learn to read music, not producing or using studio equipment or anything. I luckily have a great piano store nearby and was able to try out a couple of models. I initially went in looking for the Casio PX7000 (the yellow is so cool!) but ended up liking the experience of the Casio PX870 better. I also like Kawai in general because of aesthetics and also because they are only focused on pianos as a company (I tested the CX102 and liked it, but the model I actually want is more than twice the price of the Casio). This store has a trade-up program, so I could theoretically get the Casio to get comfortable again and then exchange it for the Kawai later on once I’m ready for an upgrade. I have two main questions:
Since the Casio costs less and I enjoy playing it, should I get that first and then upgrade to the Kawai later? Or should I just bite the bullet and get the piano I really want later in the year?
If you play mostly with headphones, what kinds do you like?
