Best plain sparkling water in a recyclable bottle/can (MI)

Hi! I’m looking for the best plain/unflavored sparkling water in a recyclable container. Bonus points for a reasonably eco-friendly company!

My husband and I go through tons of bottled Kirkland Italian sparkling water, but for whatever reason the bottles are not recyclable. I love Pellagrino, which is recyclable, but hate that it’s owned by nestle. Glass Topo is probably my favorite but it’s expensive and I don’t like taking glass with me to work/beach/etc, it’s more of a special occasion thing for us. Looking for the best summer fizzies 🫧 thank you!

Night 6 - he’s figured us out and he’s revolting

A few days ago I posted about how fabulous sleep training was going! We had normal smiley bedtime routine, able to put him down calm and he didn’t start crying until a few minutes later, had two <15 min CIO (with check-ins) nights.

NOW, he knows what’s going on and he’s fuckin’ PISSED. He’s screaming as soon as we go in his room and dim the lights for his bedtime routine. Can’t calm him down without fully “giving in” and rocking/patting/feeding. So I just put him down in the crib already crying…? Am I doing this right?

Is this the “extinction burst”? How many nights did this last for you guys? Do I keep putting him down crying if I’m unable to calm him down without resorting back to our old soothing to sleep routine?

I think he just finally fell asleep at 25 mins of crying while I was typing this. I am really grateful for this subreddit, I don’t think I’d be able to do this without this as a resource. Thank you.

Survived our first night sleep training and he STTN for the first time ever! (6m)

Just posting to give hope to people getting ready to start sleep training!!

I have procrastinated starting for two months, just always had an excuse - oh he’s teething, didn’t nap well, getting over a cold, shots, I have to work in the morning, blah blah blah.

We did our first night of modified Ferber last night for my 6m old son, who typically wakes 3+ times a night, fed and rocked to sleep, etc. Plus, lots of early wake ups ~5:30am.

We put him down fully awake but happy at about 7:30. I was worried he was too awake, smiley/giggly. Crying started 5min later when he bumped his head on the side of the crib. We did a few 3min check ins, then several 5 min check ins, then a 10 min check in at the end when we could tell he was starting to tire out. Crying level waxed and waned. 45 stressful minutes later, he was asleep!!!! With his head right against the side of the crib of course but whatever lol.

Lo and behold…. He didn’t get back up. Not a peep. I peeked at the monitor several times throughout the night to make sure he was breathing lol. Up at 6:20am which is pretty good for him and being his normal silly self.

I predicted at least one hour of bedtime crying with his normal MOTN wake ups, and he did so much better than expected. Not saying we’re done with sleep training by any means or out of the woods with rough nights but overall, I am in awe of my little guy! Thank you to this subreddit for all the advice and good luck to everyone! 🩵

Hello - long time reader, first time poster. Looking for guidance as we are about to start sleep training our 6mo. I appreciate any recommendations, ideas or support!

We have issues with him waking a lot in the 7-10pm window. My main concern is if it’s appropriate to follow a modified Ferber approach with these after-bedtime wakes.

We have blackout curtains, sound machine, appropriate cool temp in room, etc. In general, he is a well tempered boy. No health concerns. Eats well throughout the day.

6:45pm bottle/low stim environment/rocking

7-7:15pm put in crib “drowsy but awake” rolls to stomach, I pat his back until he falls to sleep. Typically goes to sleep easily initially.

Then he wakes up in about 45 minutes and is difficult to get back down without feeding/soothing. HARD crying if we try to let him CIO, spits up a lot, bumps head on crib, cries harder. Sometimes he’ll wake up AGAIN another 45 mins later, same thing.

Then, it’s about 50/50 if he wakes around 11:30/midnight. The other half of the time he will sleep 9 to 3am-ish. Bottle at 3am wake. Then up for the day between 6-6:30am.

There are times throughout the night I hear him fuss for about a minute then go back to sleep, so I know he does have some ability to self soothe.

Of note - he is not a good napper. He will only nap for 30 minutes unless contact napping. Usually goes down pretty easily but then wide ass awake in 30 mins. He typically does 3-4 naps a day (3 if we do a longer contact nap, or four 30 minute naps in crib or a car nap). He has 2.5-3 hour WW, no naps after 5pm.
