Rebecca’s World Dahlia, started blooming last week.

Location: The Bitteroot Valley, MT (zone 5b).

Had my first camping trip out near Big Hole. Loved exploring the lakes but the rivers were the highlight of our trip. A little buggy this time of year but the natural beauty made up for it.

A rare occurrence in the Serengeti…this hyena was getting too close to the lions kill from earlier. Lion had to remind him who’s boss. We watched it as it happened but I didn’t start filming until the 2nd lion came over to help his brother out.

Edit: It was really intense to witness. Turns out most of you all are desensitized pricks, but for me it was graphic and unsettling to witness an animal suffer a painful death. Last time I ever share on this sub, y’all are cruel!

I’m not totally on board with Blazy’s designs, but do love these mules! I ended up taking home the white ones. Super fun and comfortable with that extra strap across the foot.

I posted a few days ago about my pups burned paw pads. Turns out it was from swimming all afternoon then running around on the warm, rough pavement. He developed blisters which turned into shredded paws. Poor guy.

He’s doing much better (thanks to all of your suggestions!), mushers secret has been great. Baby socks with medical tape around the top of the sock (not touching his fur) works well at home. Not sure these booties will work for outside 🫠

We had a longer than usual swim day (~2 hours) then the temps went up to about 90. It was hot but nothing crazy for Florida spring. We think the raw, soft post-swim paws + his running on the hot stone pool surroundings caused the unfortunate blisters on his feet.

I feel horrible. After 7 years this has never happened before.

I’m treating with a petsmart cream and covering with booties (taking the booties off tonight for sleep and circulation reasons). Anyone have any suggestions as to treatment?
